I know this has been discussed, but here is my experience. How does it help with the convenience factor if an item takes 3 days to process, 3 or 4 days to get to my city then 4 days for the transfer from UPS to the USPS before adding on an extra day or two on top of that to be delivered. Keep the shipping with one or the other company, it helps tremendously with some semblance of a reasonable delivery date. Just venting...sorry.

@Ilovetea  I totally agree with you!  Its ridiculous how much longer it takes to go from UPS to USPS to me.  Its very frustrating and I've started looking elsewhere for items because of it because I can get the same items quicker from other retailers that ship directly through one shipper.

It's awful, takes at least 3 day's longer and I mean at the very LEAST !!!!   I don't know of any other place I buy from that does this.  It's very annoying

Except that the 2 services deliver at different times of the day, where I live there's really not much difference, so it's just not an issue with me.

My 2 most recent deliveries were USPS all the way.  One came in 5 days and the other in 6 -  both before their EDD's, both in good, new condition.  And both less expensive than the same products elsewhere.

For the kinds of things I do buy from QVC, it hasn't been worthwhile for me to shop elsewhere.  I just don't buy all that often.  I already know exactly what December will cost me -  I'm buying what's on my AD list and nothing more!

I have a UPS Surepost coming tomorrow, it's at my post office, don't know why they just don't bring it all the way.  Fedex Smartpost is no better, I hate that more than UPS.  It's hard to track after Fedex.

This is the new reality in shipping as our transporters struggle to deal with the huge surge in parcels to be delivered as generated by internet sales.  None of us like it but it's something with which we have to live.  I can imagine it getting worse rather than better.

I don't think we have to live with it.  If customers are upset, it would seem wise to make some adjustments to this awful shipping plan.  If the transporters are "struggling to deal with a huge surge", they should hire more people.  I hate this SmartPost/SurePost idea.  Our local mail delivery isn't up to the standards of UPS.  I pay extra for the ability to override their decision to hand off to USPS.  It's $40 a year, but well worth it in my opinion.

I doubt that it will get any faster especially this time of year.

I read that UPS mechanics may go on strike.....can you imagine what that would do to shipping times?

I have a few more things that I am going to order this weekend and then I am done until next year...

This method of shipping saves UPS money.

The USPS delivers mail to everyone, everyday.  Some people live in very rural or hard to get to areas.  UPS delivers only when there are packages and they only deliver packages.

UPS made an agreement with the PO to take packages there, so they do not have to have their drivers  go 30 miles out of their way for one or two customers.

if you live in an area where this type of off of the grid, living in the boonies happens, you  and the USPS reap the benefits.

If you live in a city or the suburbs, this method takes longer and is annoying.

it does keep the shipping costs down and probably keeps the USPS in business.

I am all for keeping the USPS in business but question the logic sometimes. I live in the Denver Metro area and see UPS trucks all during the day and evening delivering around me. I don’t understand why they give expensive items that I paid more to ship to the USPS to deliver when I will get a UPS delivery for a cheap item in a padded envelope. Where is the consistency?
