@DasMEM2  I prefer USPS mail innovations make the delivery as the post office delivers on Saturday whereas UPS does not. So, one extra day of the week to receive the order! I don't find my delivery is delayed in the least. I'd rather pay $3.50 for shipping than $8-$10 like other merchants.

My mom read this article just a couple days ago.  Apparently ALL UPS centers will be completely closed to customers.  They'll only be open for the purposes of loading trucks etc.  People will no longer be able to walk in and get service at the counter for anything.

This especially scares the daylights out of me because a couple of our local post offices have been closed too!  I've received my mail at the same post office box for forty years!  It's a small office too.  If it's closed, I'll have to drive at least 15 miles to the nearest larger one.

@cheriere.  They may be referring to UPS terminals as I think UPS stores are franchises.

UPS stores are almost like nail salons around here.....every couple miles!

@Kachina624   I agree....they are keeping customers out of the hubs according to my UPS gal because it is a safety/liability issue as well.  She said there is no need now to have people waiting in line at a warehouse since there are stores now in many locations.

Just a note... if you're going to ship items from your warehouse via UPS, then let them deliver. Sending it to the US Post Office only further delays the deliveries. Another major link in the chain and another reason I have almost completely stopped shopping here. This is a key part of your business, spend money here instead of the other frivolous digital programs you offer. If you can't deliver what you offer in timely, a manner...what's the point.

You should address your concerns to Corporate.

You are only talking to other customers here.

While the modertors monitor these threads, that doesn't mean your issue will go beyond these pages.

I sure would hate if I had to drive that distance to pick up mail. I would probably pick it up every 3-4 weeks. Glad to have Informed Delivery so I know what's coming.

Will they still have a way to overnight something if you need to do that?

Our UPS Hub is where they load all the trucks. The office part where you can ship packages in only open a few hours in the morning & a few hours in the afternoon.

I think they try to get people to use the UPS store instead. Hopefully they will keep it open. They seem to stay busy.

@Nightowlz

Our UPS Hub is quite large and has always had a big office in front where you could send packages and stuff.  We don't even have a UPS Store here, but that may change if they stop business at the hubs.

I rarely use UPS, but I do like knowing I can send things should I need to.  I'm probably the ONLY human being on earth who has never ordered from Amazon too.  The main reason being due to the fact they ship via UPS.

A portion of the state road I live on (out in the country) has EVERYONE'S address registered incorrectly at the courthouse.  Granted, the numbers are only off by much, but enough that packages wouldn't get delivered correctly.  Even 911 has the numbers wrong based on this information.

We've repeatedly talked to the property office and the county clerk, but I guess because it only effects about 10 homes, they don't find that important enough.  They say it can't be changed.  So, anytime I put my address into GPS, it leads me about 1/4 mile down to another home lol.

Looks like I'm gonna have to just get a mailbox in addition to my post office box, in the event they close.

Not to mention half of my boxes are either hastily packed to the point the box is so askew it leaves openings or no return receipt is included.

Never underestimate the power of kindness.
