I've noticed every fashion line on QVC is full of sequins and sparkles. Do that many people really wear these items? I'm kinda tired of it.

I noticed that too--not just on shopping channels but in the stores--went to Nordstrom Rack the other day and it was a sea of sparkles and shine---of course it's that time of year now too. And at the normal time of year too---but I am not attracted to any of that anyway--altho when I worked a preschool, I did have clothing for the hoildays that were shiny and sparkly---those little kids did love that. Worked with 3-5 year olds. and I have seen lots of the same out and about year round too. There are worse things than a few sequins and dazzle, I  suppose!!

I don't mind a tiny bit of sparkle for the Holidays....but for me a little goes a long way.

After the Holidays the sparkle is put away till next Holiday Season.

I am not interested if the full sequin items they are showing.

Sequined items are being shown mixed in with everyday clothing on Anthropologie, JCrew and other contemporary fashion brands, such as a shirt with a little bling on the cuff or a sequined tank under a plain shirt.  Doesn't fit my style for work, but I've seen it around here in restaurants and stores here in NYC.

This time of year and events, I love a sequined/metallic/sparkling fashion item.  I like pairing it with something more subdued like jeans or a ponte slim pant.

But it all depends on the design, just like anything else.  I would never wear a poncho, so a sequined poncho does not entice me.  But I love a collared shirt, so when I found a gorgeous lurex collared shirt, I bought it.

Hence all the things we're seeing in all kinds of designs.  We'll continue to see all this sparkling at us for the next few weeks, everywhere.

It just seems that they are trying too hard. Not the designers, but the wearers. I'd rather have my personality shine through. Not that I'm against an understated twinkle now & then.

I have to agree that I'm seeing a lot of sparkles in the stores these days! I'm happy to see dressier items around again, even though most likely I won't be wearing them. But I do enjoy a sparkly holiday sweater with my jeans!
