I sign in and I get a pop up to enter my cell number for special offers.  WHAT??  Like I want to be bothered with text messages now?  Talk about desperate?  No way!

So many sites I used to browse now require a cell phone instead of an email. I didn't mind that. It just goes to spam, but I have to use my cell for work to get system codes. I do not need spam coming over my phone. So those sites I used to browse? Not anymore.

@BalletBabe It may be annoying but it's a common practice these days.  Everyone wants your cell number for notifications, tracking, etc.  So much so that many places even offer extra discounts if you sign up.

That'll be the day they get my cell phone number. Like it isn't irritating enough to get the same pop up every day telling me 'they heard me.'

I put in my Tracfone number which is my backup phone.  I still get the pop-up.  So not sure if my regular cell number - the number on file - would even eliminate it.
