QVC provides each host with QVC sponsored platforms for a business purpose:  the host is intended to post and engage with customers,  shoppers, viewers......

At the very least, new hosts will post their schedules and veterans tend to post more about their personal lives.

In any event, I think that ignoring your employer's social media completely speaks volumes, in my opinion.

@They CallMe MRWILKES   100% agree.

The last host that refused to regularly incorporate social media in his QVC host duties was Dan Hughes.  He posted about once every 4 or 5 months, and always complained about doing it, in his dry wit.

Even Nancy Yoon, former host who took an extended leave of absence, would comment on other hosts's posts on Facebook quite regularly when she was away.  She also thanked posters for inquiring about her well-being when they saw her post.

I wonder who her mentor is (or was.)

She could have been well-advised by someone at QVC to post something as simple and benign as "I'll be off for awhile and will keep in touch later if possible."    Easy Peasy.

No one needs to know any specifics:  the corporate world, including QVC, provides a variety of personal and family leaves, extended disability leaves, sabbatical and so on.

Going completely radio silent only spurs and invites questions and speculation.  A good beginning PR agent could consult as to best practices.

@RescueLover  Not only do I have an actual Instagram account, I've followed Sam's QVC account since the day she got it.

This is her current QVC Instagram account.  One post. It was her introduction video from October 2024.

Does she have a different one?

Then You know how Instagram works. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I follow some of the same IG accounts as Sam. That’s why I know she’s active on it.

@RescueLover   My thoughts on a host being active on social media is specifically as it pertains to their activity on their QVC social media accounts engaging with the QVC shoppers in some way.  That's why she was hired and has the QVC accounts.

I'm glad you can see that she is apparently doing well. That's very good news.

I was never interested in who she follows.  My part of the conversation was merely about her investment in engaging with customers.

One of the qualifications QVC repeatedly posts for the host job:

Digital Savviness: Strong capability in social media creation, content management, and building follower communities.

I really don't care if she chooses to never post.  It's just strange as it's contrary to the host position she accepted, that's all.

You must know how social media works.  If you don't have engagement, you don't grow your followers.  If gaining followers is part of your job, not doing it at all just seems strange to me.

@Caaareful Shopper @RescueLover  -  I also don't consider Sam to be active on social media.  If she's not posting, she's not active.

I would not follow her to see if she's following someone.  I think it's odd that she has become a ghost with her QVC account.  I thought it was a requirement that the hosts maintain a presence with social media.

Huh ?

Reread My post on the subject.

You and @They CallMe MRWILKES assumed a person can’t be active on social media unless it involves QVC ??

And now @San Antonio Gal 🥴

@RescueLover  That's not at all what I'm saying or suggesting.  Any person can be active on social media in any way they want.  But the way in which it matters to their QVC job that they applied to and got, is to "build follower communities."  That's written by QVC.

It's a QVC requirement, not mine.  I don't care at all what she does.  I just said it's strange to hold that job and not ever intend to meet that requirement.

To Me it’s strange for posters to go from …

I hope she’s ok

to posting about her and other QVC hosts claiming they didn’t fulfill their job requirements. 🥴

Are we really concerned about the person ?? I think not.
