Rounding up Easy Pay - Easy Money

After doing the math on just one item I came up with $1000.00 they will have earned with no effort what-so-ever.

Pants cost $29.98

Easy Pay 5 payments pf $6.00 = $30.00

50K pairs sold with the .02 "round up"  is $1000.00 extra income.

It may not sound like a lot  of  money but when you are selling the volume they are it has to be adding to quite a nice sum.

I wish my customers would fall for this type of gimmick.  I would be laughing all the way to the bank.

Safe to say, I won't be utilizing Easy Pay in the future.

 Hello @LEESA

Your easy pay billing will be adjusted so that you are charged the amount of the item, and not a penny (or two) more.

Reminds me of the movie Office Space .... those guys made over $300,000 by "keeping the penny."    Good thinking QVC~!

@LEESA- QVC charges the EXACT amount of the purchase and not a penny over when using Easy Pay!  Your last payment is adjusted.  They offer Easy Pay as an option for those who want to break the payments up over time WITHOUT having to pay interest.  If your still convinced you're being charged an extra few cents, go ahead and pay in full.

@LEESAIf you or your customers use easy pay (or any sale gimmick you offer) to buy something they wouldn't buy otherwise, I agree with you.

If you and they don't use EZP when it's offered on something that you were already planning to buy, I think you're wrong.

And, btw, whenever I've used EZP and they've rounded up foir the graphics, they haven't charged me that extra 2 cents by the time I've finished paying. A bit of fake pique or just a lack of real knowledge on your part?

I just don't get it that people do not understand how easy pay works. Of course if you don't pay the easy pay amount when you get your bill then there's a problem with interest payments. Easy pay is a great way to build credit. There's no gimmick to get more cash, just a sales tactic to get you to buy more.

They always so "no interest" but a lot of customers don't pay their accounts in full so they could be paying a lot of interest.  Six months of easy pay can add up to a lot of interest especially if you have several items on easy pay.

QVC does not actually round up your payments. They only do that for the show. Can you imagine advertising "3 easy payments of 9.97 & 2/3 cents". You only pay for the advertised costs of an item.

@seaBreezeIt might profitable but also pretty stupid, and fraudulent.  She doesn't know what she's talking about.

Do you really think someone on these Forums wouldn't have figured this out long ago and shouted it from the rooftop?  Please -  too many hawks here for that!

@millieshops you are so correct about the hawks...I have no doubt they would have caught this and alerted others.  When I read the post I thought the OP was just giving a "what if" situation about rounding up...
