Re: Returning to Core Values

I do not often watch QVC shows live, and almost never an entire show unless I am doing something like ironing and want something that I can watch intermittently and not miss anything.

But, I happened to watch when Pat made this comment.  It surprised me, because I have not seen much evidence that the Q has been genuinely concerned about returning to their core.

Due to my schedule, I turned off the TV right after the comment and start of the presentation of the Susan Graver pants.

I have been shopping here for more than 32 years, and I still enjoy some of the products and hosts, but far fewer.  And, I have been retired for a long time, have not changed sizes much in all those years (except for being shorter due to bone health issues).  I used to buy a lot of clothing for work and other occasions plus I bought cosmetics, jewelry, cleaning items, home decor, etc., etc.  But, my needs and even wants have decreased over time.

As some have said, there are many other options for many of these items, and the prices are generally (not always) lower.  And, some of the programming is just gross.

I don't remember how I was invited, but I receive on-line surveys from the Q -- usually one or two per week.  And, if you accumulate enough points for taking the surveys, you can use them for electronic gift cards (QVC credits).  I have used my credits (usually $5 - $10) when I see something that I like presented (often clothing).

Many times, the surveys would ask questions about particular items that might be presented on the Q or HSN.  Since I rarely order from HSN, most of my surveys are for QVC.  For example, what do you think of this Logo top, Susan Graver pants, etc.  (how likely would you order, specific issues like value, style, etc.)

Starting at the end of last year in addition to questions about particular products, they started asking questions on more general topics -- like what do you think of this or that campaign, do you watch some of their podcasts, do you shop via Tik Tok, etc., etc.

They started sharing some feedback from their survey questions, and many respondents seem to share some of the criticisms you have expressed.

When I heard Pat make that statement, I thought maybe it was a reflection of reduced sales and perhaps some of our comments.  Of course, I could be wrong, but.....

Re: Returning to Core Values

For goodness sakes. Watch the video.  Pat was talking about Susan Graver's line not QVC's core values

@Carolina925    In what context did she make that statement?   Never mind. The video speaks for itself and not as OP imagined

@Teddixat , I apologize for imagining incorrect information. Wishful thinking, I suppose.

Re: Returning to Core Values

How about some system fixes:

Fix the website so we can see when items are sold out, or better yet, remove them from sight, instead of us wasting time clicking on sold out items.

And how about if an item is not available don't let it be displayed as available until you try to put it into cart-

Therse 2 problems are very annoying ( HSN has controlled these) and the fixes seem pretty straightforward!

Re: Returning to Core Values

Core  values of Susan Graver's line:

* polyester

* polyester

*polyester

* making presentations too difficult to watch

I'll believe it when I see it.  It'll take a lot more than words to get there.

They will need to

  • require current brands to up their game
  • develop a wider range of products lines
  • re-train hosts to behave like civilized but enjoyable adults
  • competitive prices
  • reduced to no shipping and return fees

and soooooo much more.

First they need  to go back to Value. Don't see any values on the Q anymore.
Second they need to up their TSV offerings. They are so bad I don't even watch anymore.

First of all, no matter what QVC does people will be unhappy. Everybody has a different idea what should change. When QVC  started there was no one on forums writing about who and what bothered you. Right now nothing seems to be changing, I turned it on last night and Amy was doing the bunny hop with who I think were the philosophy reps. That was, for me, the fastest channel changer ever.

I watched the Q for 30 years and don't remember ever being unhappy. Don't remember hosts being so loud and silly. Don't remember having hosts on my unwatchable lists. Not even Jane T. I don't know what happened but it has turned into an unwatchable circus.

Re: Returning to Core Values

They're obviously cutting costs. No more 50 and 50, no more quality fabrics, no more quality designers, no more remote from Italy shows, nothing presented that can't be gotten elsewhere.

Their attempt at making it fun with the dancing and other nonsense has instead made it cringey.
