Return charge for using QR code

Just a heads up; watch your credit card statements if you return by QR code and the $6,95 charge goes to a credit card. Twice this month I was charged $6.95 twice for the same return. My credit card lists the order number next to the $6.95 charge and it happened twice! I called customer service and they saw that I was telling the truth and refunded the second charge.for both double charges. Check your statements! This never happened before so not sure what is going on. On both items I used the order status start a return option to get the QR code.

Re: Return charge for using QR code

Seems there's always something to have to watch out for.  Thanks for the heads up.  I haven't returned anything for a while but, when I do, I use the QR, take it to the post office and have them print and affix the return label.

I'll make sure I keep this in mind for the future.

Yes! This happened to me, too -- twice.

Everyone...watch your credit card charges if you return something.

You should be watching your cc statements whether you return something or not!

I'm amazed at the folks who don't.

@Mz iMac - I agree, but it doesn't hurt to get a heads up about a potential problem.

Quite a while ago I had an odd $1.00 charge to the CC I use most.  At the time, I had just renewed a subscription and a lot of companies use a charge like that to verify the CC and then it drops off.

Well, this one didn't and I contacted the CC company and got it removed.  The woman thought it looked suspicious, but I'd had that card for years and didn't want to go through the hassle of canceling it and getting a new one.

About a week or so later, up pops another $1.00 charge.  It was 1:00 a.m., when I saw it, and I immediately called the CC company who canceled my card and reissued it.

After investigation, all they could do was track it to - wait for it - a charge that someone on the Google Campus in California had made!  Couldn't get any more information than that.  At least it's never happened again.

I've also had a CC canceled when someone actually made a purchase over the phone on my card (after a big company data breach).  That charge was canceled but, at the same time, the CC company called me because a second attempt minutes later (same scumbag) was made over the phone and the CC CS rep asked if I would be sending a "large amount of sporting equipment to Peru"!  Uh, NO!  Woman Surprised

Stores are not supposed to accept orders over the phone, to be shipped to any other address than the cardholder's, according to my CC company.  The first store did; the second store immediately flagged it.  (The first store took the hit for the purchase, as it was their fault.)

Trust no one!
