A few days ago, during a laptop presentation, a woman called in to say she was buying a new laptop because hers gets really overheated when it sits on her lap.
The host and vendor didn't say a WORD about all laptops getting really hot when set on a soft surface (legs, sofa, pillow, etc.). They just kept yammering on about the one she is buying being so much more "efficient" than whatever she's using now.
This was really deceptive. If they'd told her that ALL laptops get hot when used the way she does, chances are she might not have needed to spend all that money--not to mention that the new one is going to overheat on her lap just like the one she's replacing.
I know it's their job(s) to sell products, but this was really sleazy. And I think it was Dan Hughes (the king of sleazy used-car salesman selling tactics).
