I only started shopping here a little over a year ago. I have bought alot of jewelry. I want to tell you my experience.

I ordered an "as is" diamond ring which arrived with a big stone missing. I ordered a "new" diamond ring which came with a stone missing.

I ordered the diamond angel wing earrings "new" which arrived with one lovely earring and one dirty and tarnished.

I ordered the B Bixby grasshopper charm which was on a temporary reduction and it arrived with areas covered in that blue-green corrosion stuff. I am serious.

I ordered a "new" DMQ tennis bracelet that arrived scratched with a broken clasp.

That is enough. I think you get the picture. My point is, I don't think the labels - new, as is, whatever - mean anything. It is a gamble all around.

A few weeks ago, while watchiing a clearance jewelry show, the host said that clearance was "first quality." She said that "this is not somebody's return, we don't do that." I could not beleive my ears because clearly they do, without even checking the return first.

This was from another forum but worth posting here to alert QVC about its quality control issues.  You can thank Noreen for this reply.

@newname0 They absolutely DO send out returned things as "new"...and not just jewelry, either! People have reported getting clothes/handbags with items in the pockets (including tissues, ewww!). I have received one item that I'm sure was a return--it was a ceramic piece, defective, and you could just tell that someone else had returned this item because it was very obviously "re-packed". When I returned it, I wrote "Defective" all over the box with a black marker, so no one else would get it!

I've only been shopping here about 7-8 years, and have seen quality slip quite a bit. Sizing on clothes/shoes has become ridiculously inconsistent. I used to be able to order anything within a "brand" in the same size, and it would fit. Not anymore!

We have complained and complained about these issues and nothing has been done!

They never used to, believe me!  When items were returned they were they palleted and sold off to resellers.  QVC often promoted the fact hat your item was new, never worn and still in its original manufacturing packaging and when you went to try something on in a B & M store you didn't know how many people had tried it on.... etc...

Years ago I got my first "used" new item.  A cute little make up train case.  I opened it to find smeared make up and grit at the bottom of the case.  Some up the interior sides and scuffs on the outside of the case~!     Sent it back outraged.  Now it's part of everyday QVC.

It's the reason I won't go on a waitlist for anything.  If I decide to buy an "as is" item, that's my decision and I understand it.  But if I'm buying something "new", I expect it to be brand new, in new condition, never used!  There's no excuse for sending out items that are dirty, broken, stained or missing pieces, etc.  THAT is entirely Quality Control~!

My quality control complaints are with the jewelry order fulfillment staff in Florence, SC.  Several times they have sent me completely WRONG items. Yesterday I received my package which SHOULD have contained 2 of the same chains but only 1 was in the envelope package. Either someone is stealing the stuff before it is shipped out, or  there is a Bermuda triangle happening in SC.  I have notified Customer Service more than once, but the problem continues. Now I see my chain is sold out. WHERE is the chain I ordered????  The problem seems to have begun when QVC started using SC as the jewelry shipping point.
