Has anyone ever heard of this blanket that they have on QVC2?  It is a weighted blanket.  What is it suppose to do?

I have not seen the blanket they are selling.  But we know people who adopted a baby girl whose mother was on drugs during pregnancy.  She is probably close to H.S. age now, but she sleeps with a weighted blanket.  It helps to calm her down or something.  I am sure others know more about this than I do.

I have a niece who suffers from anxiety.  She has one of these blankets and says it helps calm and comfort her.  They work on the same principle as the "thunder shirt" for dogs.  It's something that envelops a person and makes him/her feel safe and secure.

A weighted blanket was recommended for my grandson at age 4, he has autism and sensory disorder as well as Apraxia.

The feeling of the weight comforts him. It is like holding him tightly. He is 5 now and thriving.
