Re: QVC sales down without Lisa Robertson

As my stats prof used to say, "Correlation is not causation." In other words, just because two things happen at the same time does not mean one event caused the other.  For example, 2016 was the warmest year on record. That was not caused by Lisa's leaving QVC. Retail is hurting. Whether at the mall or in TV, there are problems.

I love a Jonnysbro thread! I just want to know how you get your info.

Wrong is still wrong just because you benefited from it.

Re: QVC sales down without Lisa Robertson

It's not brain surgery to look at what they are selling and obviously their target audience.  I'm their target audience.  I'm a little older than most (70).   My guess is most are (not all, don't get your panties twisted) around 50 to on up.  Many are retired or close to retirement.  They lead a casual life style and like simple uncomplicated clothes (Denim and Co and Quacker Factory, Susan Graver).

But when you are old(er) and your life style is casual and you have no need for 'work' clothes you don't buy as much and they clothes are EXPECTED to be less expensive.  (Am I getting close)?

I still like to look at and buy nice clothes (Louis Dell'Olio is one of the few that maybe crosses over).  I am sooo bored looking at the same clothes by the same manufacturers (I wouldn't think they are true designers except maybe Louis).

I enjoy Susan Graver's enthusiasm, but even she often seems surprised at clothes she's (suposedly) designed.  They are just manufactured.  I think that's one reason we can't EVER get a Louis Dell'Olio TSV.

I remember in 'the old days" there were so many REAL designers that came on the Q, it was fun to watch, whether or not one was buying or even intended to buy.

I'd often watch and buy something because it looked so good on the model.

You know I think QVC has forgotten a sales mantra.  You need to try to sell a life-style.  You need to make ladies (even those who are very practical and retired) think if they buy that RED shoe, just maybe they'll look like the model.

PLEASE QVC, show us more variation.  You need to draw in a younger crowd.  Until you do, I'm convinced your sales are going to continue to drop.

Good grief!  In other areas you are better (not great, just better).  You've convinced me I need another George Foreman stand up grill.  Why do I say ANOTHER one?  Because last year I bought one and when my friend saw it (never used) she asked if she could have it.....I said 'sure'.  Then you sell it again this year and ......well you guess it...I have another (even red, again) sitting in the box ready if I want a grilled hamburger.

The stupid thing about me buying this is I eat out 4 to 5 times a week (every week).  So why not put this kind of sell (variation, etc) in your clothing line....please?

Lisa Robertson was a great host, but she has left the company. I think ALL posts that mention Lisa R. should be deleted immediately.

Stop being ridiculous.  Everyone knows the reason QVC is having problems  is because Courtney Cason has been moved almost exclusively to Q+ and/or Beauty IQ and not as many people get those 2 channels so they aren't watching which means they aren't ordering

Your joking,  right ...
