@QVCTVSpree wrote:I find these Facebook Groups to be slightly entertaining, yet somewhat informative, especially when they warn about certain brand reps and their dangerous medical advice, such as Kerstin for example. One of the women on one of the Facebook Groups had a husband who is in 60's and apparently he followed Kerstin's "ICE PLUNGE" FAD advice, which she jumped on many years after Joe Rogan and many other influencers..
Kerstin likes to PIGGYBACK off the trends and then she charges for the coaching advice that is already out there for FREE off many streaming platforms. Well, apparently this 60 yr old husband of one of these Facebook women who follows Kerstin decided to do the ICE PLUNGE for a first time and had a T.I.A from the cold plunge, but fortunately made full recovery.
Kerstin gives out some very dangerous medical advice and if QVC forum is going to censor warnings, than we need groups like that to HELP alert and warn others, which I am very THANKFUL for!!
Cold exposure therapy dates back thousands of years. Ancient cultures in Scandinavia, Russia, and Japan used ice baths and cold water immersion as healing rituals. These methods aimed to reduce inflammation, boost circulation, and strengthen the immune system. Over time, scientific studies confirmed that cold exposure triggers physiological responses such as vasoconstriction and the release of endorphins. These effects laid the foundation for modern cold plunge practices among athletes and wellness seekers.
Athletes began adopting cold plunges in the mid-20th century as a recovery tool after intense training or competition. Swimmers, runners, and team sport players found that immersing in cold water reduced muscle soreness and sped up recovery times. By limiting inflammation and flushing out metabolic waste, cold plunges helped athletes return to training faster and with less discomfort.

While I'm not a member of this group, it pops up all the time on my newsfeed. I don't remember the official group name off the top of my head, but it's something like QVC complaints and then has a phone number listed in the name.
It is a freaking free for all in that group. People should be ashamed of themselves for what they post there. That group should be shut down. My parents would rise from their graves and shoot me out of a cannon if I acted and posted like some of the posters do.
I just looked. It's called Customer complaints and support desk and the the phone number. Horrible posts in there.

@gidgetgh tell me big brother isn't watching! I have never heard of these groups on fb. Soooo today I was on FB and what pops up is the QVC Complaints group. Anyway, it's a nasty group bashing everyone, even those in the group. Depressing to say the least.

@RespectLife I highly respect *NO PUN intended* your opinion, information and facts you present. However, it's sort of a Catch-22. Wind Sprints are also a very beneficial exercise for the body and have similar benefits to the body, as cold plunging. They could also be a life or death for someone. Its a one size does NOT fit all and the American Heart Assoc is actually highly against Cold Plunging and warns against it due to the dangers of high levels of cortisol and effects on the heart when engaging.
Apparently, this husband of 60 yrs old was generally in good shape, but it was his first time doing this and it was a SHOCK to his system. They said it was almost 100% caused by the cold shock thearpy. I would heed Kerstin's advice just as much as I would of with Suzanne Somers. They are both to me are/were two peas in a pod. Very controversial health advice from two women who always worked/works in the home shopping arena. We all know unfortunately how Suzanne's advice played out.
Kerstin is on pace to have the skin of a female Hulk Hogan with her sunbathing. She also highly pushes "MOUTH Taping" another EXTREMELY controversial and dangerous *American Heart Assoc* fad that can be DEADLY for some people. I'd take the advice of Kerstin to the same length that I would of what my fortune cookie said last night from our family's DELICIUS Chinese meal!! LOL

Give people a keyboard to hide behind and suddenly they are fearless warriors… as long as it’s from behind a screen. That’s the virtual world, zero connection, zero courage, and zero clue they are talking to a real person.
