Re: QVC's 39th Birthday

[ Edited ]

Cute old photo!  HAPPY BIRTHDAY QVC.!
I've been a faithful viewer and "supporter" since my son was born in 1994- so over 30 yrs! It was so helpful when I was stuck in the house with a baby and hubby was traveling- and then working full time +, no free time to shop-
And now, I just prefer to shop here - Brick and mortar is overwhelming to me-  Ive been a poster here since here about year 2000- I love these boards! I would misss Q terribly if it was gone...

Happy Birthday.  So much has changed over the years, anyone else remember little paper cards with your membership number and calling in an order?

@Still Raining   YUP!  Actually, 1982 I was hooked on "The Home Shopping Club" long before QVC came along.  They had the bluish credit card size membership cards.

When I discovered QVC sometime in the nineties, the membership cards were fadding out.

@JudyL

There was a guy, an early days host, named Eastwood or Eastman or Eastland? Maybe that's him in the picture? That is the best my old memory can conjure up.

And many more (I hope).

Starting shopping here after CVN folded.  Didn't have a credit card, so I'd borrow my Dad's and then reemburse him with babysitting money. He got a kick out of that!

My neighbor got me interested in QVC in the late 80's. She would buy and buy

and I think the only time her tv was turned off was when she went to sleep.

John Eastman.

I didn't know so looked it up on Wikipedia. I don't recall watching when he was on.

I've been watching since the beginning and I am glad they are still on air.

   Seemed I only remember  Rick & Mike Rowe & Lisa Robertson & David. I must  not have watched when the other Hosts were on.
