I have purchased TONS of items from QVC over the years.  The prices now are much higher in my opinion than comparable stores.

I purchased a Cuddl Duds item at Kohls this weekend...priced at $36, but with coupon and promotion, it cost me $7.  To me, that is the difference.  QVC would sell the item at $36 plus shipping.  Many people would not be willing to schlep to the store, wait in line, use the coupon, etc.  As a retiree with less discretionary income AND time, I am willing to make the effort.

I beg to differ with you.  QVC's delivery and return prices are ridiculous, not to mention the quality of some of their designers have sunk to new lows.

@gmabee38  What you say is true, I agree with you. Fabrics are way thinner than in years past but they do offer different price points with their "designers".  You can spend in the $100's with Side Stitch & Barefoot Dreams or $30ish with CuddleDuds/Muk Luks.

I don't think I've ever seen 'better' brands at Kohl's.  I'm all about options Smiley Happy

I'm not saying they're worth what they sell for, I'm saying there are options.

As far as shipping/returns, again, I agree it's out of hand at the Q.  When I do have to return something, I wait until I have at least 2, to pack together, to save money.  I am not willing to go to Kohl's, Macy's or wherever with coupons in hand, wait in line for a few dollars less.  I'm happy people have that option, it's just not one I wish to do right now.

Earlier this year I posted 2 tops I purchased at Nordstrom's (free shipping & returns) and it was just a few dollars difference from QVC's merchandise (when you add the shipping/return fees).  The quality of the pieces I received from Nordstrom were way better than Q at about the same price.

@GSPgirl ...........There are ridiculous prices on Amazon too, especially by the 3rd party sellers along with extremely high shipping charges.

There are also very good prices on items, but buyer beware, especially clothing.  When Im in the market for clothing it takes me quite a while to hunt and peck for good quality items.  As an example I was hunting (on Amazon) for a thin turtleneck to wear under sweaters, etc.  After days of searching I finally found a good quality one for $13.99 with free shipping and American made, so the deals are out there but a lot of perserversence is need, IMO.

Amazon can be a HUGE rip off!

There is a thread about corn meal.  2 brands suggested selling between $1.58 and $2.49 as stated by the poster.

Walmart had it for those prices but were sold out.

Amazon had them for $12 !!!!!!!!!!!!!  Same size bag !  Shameful

I will only shop with them as a VERY last resort ...this is NOT the first time I have found price gouging on Amz.  DOZENS AND DOZENS of times.

Re: QVC prices!

[ Edited ]

I buy a lot from Macy's website.  They have great sales, promo codes/coupons, fast free shipping, free and fast returns by UPS and when I return something I have a credit in a few days.

I like J Jill too - their prices are high for what they are but at least they have sales and coupons/promo codes and offer free shipping.

I've been buying from QVC from the get-go.  Their prices especially on clothing are a lot higher these days.  Susan Graver's pricing for instance is out of control.

And Lori Goldstein - her tops are ridiculosly priced and a lot of them look like rags pieced together.

Re: QVC prices!

I found a simple solution...I shop out of my closet...

Today I wore some kind of 100 dollar "Dreamy" droopy shacket with no buttons or closures in front, and combined them with my bedroom slippers and went grocery shopping....everybody's doing it according to the Q!!!

When I got to the store, I couldn't hold my pen and list AND hold the droopy shacket closed about my body, so I said the heck with it and let it just flop open, exposing my naked body underneath...!!! I was SO comfy in my jammies I forgot to put anything else on!! So Soft! So on trend and en time!!!

HOPED people wouln't notice...they could be too busy ogling my "cute" 75 dollar "shlippers" on my feet?..and anyway, MOST shoppers are too busy looking at thier own lists or thier phones to notice.

Even the cashier didn't notice...just pushed the stuff along the belt.

I managed to get out to the car to put my stuff in the trunk...it was COLD!!!That expensive shacket with no buttons or way to close it flapped about in the 20 mph wind, and by the time I got done, I was frozen solid.

So the cost of clothes don't really concern me. I knew I was out and about today in my cute shlippers and expensive cheaply made shacket with no closures, so I felt good!!

Who needs sylish clothes anyway?

NO ONE LOOKS.

I know cause once last summer I went to Walmart completely naked.

I use to love QVC,but not anymore! They seem to sell the same items OVER and OVER again,it's gotten so redundant I flip through the station! If I hear one more presentation about Luminara candles,or Temptations,or Lock & Lock I'm gonna scream! I do like HSN much better...The Products & the hosts are refreshing! But my All time favorite Shopping on line is Amazon, you can't beat them for Variety,Delivery,Refunds, and Customer Service! It's no wonder QVC & HSN are hurting...They Can NOT compete with this Behemoth company!
