Re: QVC needs a hosts shakeup

@stevieb  I completely agree.  I'm seeing the possibility that the new mgt might want to run a "fire sale" type initiative to raise some cash and clear inventory when they come into power.  Then, they can see what type of programming from which platforms will produce a profit.  Maybe the executive team can consult radio personality DAVE RAMSEY for advice on how to quickly eradicate QVC debt  and make a "fresh start."  That's a JOKE!!

Rosina  is one of the Hosts that I will watch.  For awhile they had her doing beauty shows and also  with Dennis Basso but of course the loudest ones always get the prime time  and the most air time,

@skatting44  I love Rosina, and wish she'd be on the main channel permanently.

There's always a lot to be thankful for if you take time to look for it.
For example, I am sitting here thinking how nice it is that wrinkles don't hurt.

@spabar

Abt a year ago Rosina was on more fashion and beauty shows .Now she is on less and alot of clearance shows. I thought she was  involved in a Spanish speaking promo by QVC but ??? Maybe she wants a part time schedule ? I  remember how it was when I had a toddler , then school age child. I worked different shifts so I could be home to accomodate my childs schedule.

This portion of the Reorganization Plan seems to indicate that all existing Employment Contracts and Agreements will be assumed by New QVC:

 Employee Compensation and Benefits.

1. Compensation and Benefits Programs.

Except as otherwise set forth in the Plan, on the Effective Date, the Debtors or Reorganized Debtors, as applicable, shall (a) assume all employment agreements, indemnification agreements, or other employment-related agreements entered into with current or former employees of such Debtors or (b) enter into new agreements with such employees on terms and conditions acceptable to the Debtors and such employees, and, in the case of any executive officer of the Reorganized QVC Debtors, on terms and conditions reasonably acceptable to the Required Consenting QVC Noteholders and Required Consenting RCF Lenders. Notwithstanding the foregoing, pursuant to section 1129(a)(13) of the Bankruptcy Code, from and after the Effective Date, all retiree benefits (as such term is defined in section 1114 of the Bankruptcy Code), if any, shall continue to be paid in accordance with applicable Law.

Re: QVC needs a hosts shakeup

I wouldn’t wish for anyone to loose his/her job. Some hosts probably sell more than others. But, it might have to do with more airtime, product variety & pricing. I have my favorites but it’s the product that is of interest to me not the host.

The problem with some magicians is belief in their own magic. So I think that was the Q.

Surprised you didn't suggest L.R. return.

Re: QVC needs a hosts shakeup

I think what several posters are saying is that Chapter 11 helps the current debt problem, but that there are significant problems that remain that have caused sales to seriously decline rather than grow.

The earlier Project Athens strategies didn't work (& likely made matters worse), and the WIN strategies haven't worked either. Sales in several categories continue to plummet.

In other words, coming out of Chapter 11 with much less debt while keeping the same failed strategies would only steer toward more troubles in the future.

It's not an "either-or single solution"; it should be a "this AND that multi-faceted set of solutions" for a business with a set of multi-faceted problems.

@JONNYSBRO I believe filing for bankruptcy is in itself, a shakeup.  Although I do agree with your assessment of some hosts you mention, I enjoy the other two, QVC won't keep hosts that aren't selling.

QVC knows the hosts numbers, as do the hosts themselves. There are a couple hosts I cannot watch, no matter what they present. However, it appears others like them and they seem to sell. So, I just make the decision not to watch nor do I ever purchase while these hosts are on air.

I tend to agree with you, There was one host from the past and is one now that I refuse to watch no matter how much they sell. The one now is arrogant, rude, and often inappropriate an unkempt.  The one from the past was so full of herself, she was intolerable. I know I may be in the minority, but I will not purchase anything while she is on air. However I use the online service more than on air anyway.
