Re: QVC and Pickleball!

[ Edited ]

With apologies to pickleball fans I hope streaming is not a successful venture!

Why, not because I have anything against pickleball but because every single streaming service I'm familiar with, as well as cable and satellite providers, that carry sports end up with ever increasing rates to help cover the costs involved.  I'm not even sure that premium sports "tickets" don't contribute to increased fees. At Q that likely means increased merchandise costs.

The sports entities do not pay the carrier, the carrier pays the sports entities, generally multi-millions each year of the contract.

What is good for the goose today will also be good for the gander tomorrow.

@songbird  I agree that pickleball is Senior friendly, but it isn't the only sport we Seniors can engage in on a regular basis. That being said, it sure is popular amongst our age group. Probably a good move for QVC.

Besides a specific bag that fits Pickleball rackets, why is there Pickleball specific clothing and shoes? Can't someone just dress the same way as they did for Tennis?

I am guessing that regular generic outfits would work to play this game (never having played myself or seen it played).  But many people, especially the young, like to personalize their things.  I can see sweaters, jackets, etc. etc. that say "PICKLEBALL!" ETC.  And again things for parties, like they do for Halloween, and other parties.
