Re: QVC Studio Tour and Store to Close in August 2019

I wonder if the "safety" excuse is just code for "lack of interest."  The audience they are targeting lately probably isn't interested in a studio tour.

Re: QVC Studio Tour and Store to Close in August 2019

I am bummed to learn this. I live in West Chester and go there occasionally. They usually have the TSV in stock, so you can buy it on the spot. That was a nice perk. The physical store is small, but that is partly because they only keep display models on display with stock in the back. The salesperson would get the item for you from the back. It actually has a good amount of merchandise.

The tours are fun. I did the $10 tour and the $35 tour. The tour groups are usually big, so I think the interest was there. I understand the need to crack down on a security, though.

I did the tour about 15 years ago and loved it.  My DH even thought it was interesting.  Rick D was doing a cooking show that we were able to watch for a few minutes and saw JRT doing a silver show.   I loved the store at the end of the tour because you could see many things in person.

I really think safety would be a big concern.

I had to go through "active shooter training" yesterday.  It was a video: run, hide or fight.... hands up when you leave the building... etc.   very scary.  I'm so glad I usually work at home.

@NewerNickname  Maybe it's an additional way to tighten up security because of all the random shootings lately.  No one knows of the reason for doing so, but tightening security is one of the major concerns I'm sure.

It seems the last goodbye to all things associated with low key hosts.

If you've seen any of the recent live studio audience shows, there aren't nearly the amount of people there that used to be.  In the past the seats were full in large studios.  The last time I watched a show, just the center section of seating was open and even that wasn't full.

I suspect that also means the end of the live audience shows
