I received a package of two identical cosmetic items (sold as a duo), which included the note pictured below.
I have no complaint about QVC doing random QA inspections.
My issue is that I don't know which of the two containers was opened.
Why is that a big deal?
Because many cosmetics are sealed in such a way that they will keep until the container is opened and the product is exposed to the air, and at that time the clock starts ticking toward eventual product degradation.
The duo I purchased will likely last me several years, so if the manufacturer's vacuum seal on one was broken in a QA inspection, I'd like to know I'm using from that one first.
By not knowing which was opened by QA, it's possible I may find the second one turns 'bad' while just sitting on my shelf.
Has anyone else received a note saying their item was inspected?

i just thought that they opened the box, not the individual items?
yes, i have received those notes before in orders.

They should NOT be opening cosmetics or skin care that ships to a customer. They should open random samples and then sell them AS IS.

Unless they are giving you that item at no cost to you, I would send it back and make sure the S&H is on them. They need to do QA on their own dime, not the customers.

@sunshine45 I've had a couple in all the years I've been here, they've been clothing items.
@x Hedge I may be missing something in your post about safety seals. If only one pkg was opened and you opened the other and it had a secured seal, I'm thinking the one that was opened had the seal removed unfortunately.
I'd also be wondering why the 'inspector' would even take a safety seal off of a product regardless what the product is. If the 'Inspector' took it off what's s/he looking for? Would s/he even know what to look for? Did s/he suspect something?
things that may you go hmmm...

@Anonymous
or any other mods......
can you confirm that they DONT break seals or open up/contaminate individual cosmetic items?

l I'm sure they are checking to make sure you are getting what you ordered. Like 2'of something, or the right color of something. They are not checking out the actual products. A poster complained about something she got, having holes poked in her supersmile. She never did come back and update. @x Hedge I don't think you need to worry about them actually getting into your product😀

No Never, and if I were you, I would send the open cosmetic item back.
Cosmetic items should never be opened with a seal for the very reasons you stated.
Ugh.

@x Hedge- So was a seal missing from one item and the other intact? Or did neither of them have seals?
I've received items that didn't have an inner seal and I queried it with CS and was told that was how the manufacturer sent them out. I kept them, with no issues, but never reordered that item. In this day and age, there is no excuse for not having sealed beauty products.

These don't have an inner seal @PINKdogWOOD.
They are as I wrote.
I don't have a problem with the absence of an inner seal, generally.
I think cosmetics manufacturers use whatever option is best for each product.
In the past, I've received glass vials (cosmetics) that were vacuum sealed, and I could hear a tiny hiss of air as I first opened the container.
I also think cosmetic containers are sometimes filled and sealed in a room with filtered, dried, purified air.
In either case, no inner seal would be needed unless the item was intended to be on display somewhere that a customer could open random containers.
