Years ago almost all of my wardrobe was from QVC..Susan Graver, Sports Savvy, etc. The prices are too high now plus I cannot watch SG shows. I get great tops online from a department store and always get free shipping. Many are around $30, but I buy when they go on sale for $9.99. I never have trouble with the quality. Also, QVC sizes are "iffy" and returns are too costly. I do buy beauty items from QVC if they are at a better price than individual purchases elsewhere.

I've said before that I think the higher QVC prices are due to the higher wages paid to at least 2, sometimes 3, people presenting every item, at least partly. Ever item has a host plus a vender rep..

Best time to get a deal at QVC is when something is on clearance. Otherwise 9 out of 10 times you can find it on Amazon and such cheaper with no shipping.

Yesterday, I saw a Susan Graver top which piqued my interest. It was a little over $50, I passed.

Of course designers want to get as much as possible--that is the way capitalism works!
If you buy something when it first comes out, either online or at a B&M store, it is usually at the highest price.
If you wait until the change of seasons, especially summer versus winter, you can get the same item significantly reduced, although your size might be iffy.
If you wait almost a year you can buy the item on clearance, cheap as can be, but finding one's size is a lucky experience.
Again, I shop everywhere and I live near the second largest mall in the country (KoP), and two QVC outlets, where sales are as low as all pants $5.00.
I have not really found the quality changed that much in the clothes designers that I usually purchase.

My goodness @Annabellethecat66 it certainly sounds like you got up on the wrong side of the bed today ! Prices are going up everywhere. I really haven''t found the quailty that much different than years ago when they first started, some products are really great some not so much. Their sizing on their clothing, however is a whole other matter. As for your children complaining about SS I had to laugh, I remember 50 years ago my friends and I saying the exact same thing and now here we all are collecting ! Cheer up ther are lots of other on line stores to shop at and alot of them have very good prices and deals going on all the time.

@Silver Fox1 I can’t respond right now as my iPad keeps jumping and it’s difficult to respond.
OK...I changed my mind...I’ll try to respond.
Why in the world would you think “I got up on the wrong side of the bed”?
Do you realize how condescending that sounds?
I stated a simple fact for why I ( this is MY) idea on ONE reason I think they’ve increased the prices.
Have you ever made your clothes? I have, and I can tell you it cost me more money to purchase more material when the dress design called for more material.
Do you think China just “gives” QVC the extra material required for the larger sizes?
My post had nothing to do with “people’s” sizes.
My post was explaining one reason I think prices have gone up. Nothing is as simple as extra material, but it all adds to it.
The large stores seldom goes that large. I’m thinking of Kohl’s. It’s been a long time since I’ve been in ‘brick and mortar ‘ stores, but my friend tells me if shes’s understanding what size I’m telling her, she doesn’t see a lot ( if any ) 5X in those stores.
Usually that size is sold in other stores.
Look! One reason I like QVC is because it was hard to find a 1X in those brick and mortar stores, so, I, for one am GLAD QVC offers that size.
The minute someone says anything about larg(er) sizes...the person gets jumped on.
Since you seemed to be concerned about my sleep last night ( or lack of) I will tell you I’ve been carefully monitoring it and...maybe you’ll be happy to hear it is greatly improving.
I know EXACTLY how I’ve slept (i.e. REM, light, etc) for this past week because I purchased the QVC TSV recently.
You might remember it. It was the Fitbit Versa 2. It monitors my sleep patterns, etc. So I hope that causes you to no longer have concern for what side of the bed I got out on.
Also, I will add I’ve had 3 professional sleep studies done...Just want you know I. On top of my sleep monitoring so you don’t worry.
In conclusion, I would ask that you don’t presume to think you know what I’m thinking.
I thought I explained my thought process in a timely way.
If not, I sincerely apologize. if you’d like to discuss anything else about this subject, please let me know.
As for any other discussions about other subjects...I don’t think this is the right place to do it as I’d like this to be about why QVC has been raising their prices..MY opinion.
Thank you for your response. All comments, are, as always welcome. Please let’s not make this about weight.
As a fat person myself, I find it a discussion that is much too sensitive.

Paying for extra fabric is one of many reasons prices go up.
All costs of running a business are reflected in prices of their products. Companies have to pay for them some way.
Chinese manufacturers may have increased their prices. QVC is offering more free shipping days that are not really free. Those rebates many customers use probably on the rise as more learn about them. There are more clearances and sales. Free exchanges that are not free. Integration of HSN, upgrading fulfillment centers and opening up a huge facility in Bethlehem, PA. There was a 10% tariff on fabric; although, no additional tariffs were placed on China.
Mike George said tariffs did not cause increased prices at QVC, but acquiring HSN might cause a rise.
I can think of many others, too many to list here, but when losing money, some companies raise their prices to make up the loss. Foolish, because shoppers will go elsewhere.

LOL. @Annabellethecat66 @step back and read both your first and most recent very very long posts. It does seem as if you have been cheerier. Perhaps the length of your posts leaves them ripe for the reader to make unwarranted assumptions?

That's what happens when you combine tariffs and ever-increasing prices. No one really thought businesses would absorb the cost of tariffs. They pass them on as they do all increases in costs.
I do agree with OP that weight and size should not be part of anyone's comments. There is no possible way a comment about size can be constructive.
