QVC Lancaster Outlet Final Months

It was such a beautiful day that we took a drive out to the country, and I stopped at the QVC Lancaster outlet for old time's sake.

The entire outlet area is abandoned and empty, and they are going to tear everything down and rebuild apartments, etc.  Rockvale Outlets still has a small strip and some stores have relocated, but QVC has no announcement in the window about moving.

The store is pretty sparse but still has some very good clothes bargains.  Everything is now final sale, no returns.  Starting next week they will offer final clearance/closing prices.  They have run out of bags, so you have to carry your purchases in your hands!

The staff told me that they are more or less on their own looking for new jobs, although many were provided with severance pay.

I have purchased so much beautiful gold jewelry here and great outfits at fantastic prices, so I have many fond memories.  This store was very popular with all the Lancaster visitors, as it was so well located.  The other QVC outlet in Frazer is more remote, and never carried as much fine jewelry.

The store will be closing permanently mid-September, so stop by if you want to do any final shopping.

@FancyPhillyshopper   I used to live near there. I am sad to hear of the closing and that they are tearing down the outlet stores.People came from all over to shop there.

@FancyPhillyshopper That's too bad.  I have never been to that store but I have been to the one in Fraszer.

Have you ever been to the outlet stores in Flemington, NJ?  At one time it was a large shopping area with lots of outlet stores and was very popular.  Tour buses would bring people in.

It had been years since I went there but recently I went to a restaurant in Flemington and we decided to take a drive past the outlet shopping center.  What a sad sight!  Every single store was closed down and it looked like a sad ghost town.  It too will be demolished soon for new apartments/condos and I'm not sure what else.

I remember just how popular it was back in the 80s & 90s.  It seems that outlet shopping centers will soon be a thing of the past.

@haddon9

Afew years ago while I was on a project near Somerville, I stopped by Flemington and drove around the outlet center.  I walked by the quirky little shop buildings....it was so sad to see how forlorn they looked.

It had been a place I would find neat Christmas gifts and definitely a place to spend a beautiful spring or fall afternoon !

The large outlet centers in Southern FL seem to have recovered to a degree from the pandemic years.  I don't spend a lot of time there anymore: too much walking even in the hot " winter " months at this age.  Same three stores get my attention....

I won't go to Lancaster now, I want to remember it as I enjoyed in the past.  In the old master bedroom will be my reminder: two stained glass hanging lights.

The pandemic did a number minutes from my home.  I can now drive by an athletic / swim center and see a mountain of asphalt piled stories high in preparation for townhouses.

On a tour bus from Virginia and stopped by there.  Only had so much time to shop and then back on the bus.  I sure did not get by fill, so the very next day went back on my own and stayed the entire day.  Loved all the shops and the great bargains!

We have an outlet mall here, Outlet Mall of Atlanta, which is not near Atlanta but anyway, it's booming! I started working there toward the end of Covid and you would have never believed there was a pandemic. It's tthriving.

Sad turn of events, started going there in 1999, bought tons of beautiful jewelry and clothes. Not gone nearly as often in recent years.

I was in the Lancaster store once.  It was dirty and such a mess, I didn't even want to touch anything.  I circled the perimeter and then walked right out the door.

I did buy several things at the Frazer store.

@haddon9  Flemington used to be so cute and quaint. I spent many Saturdays there in the past. So hard to swallow that it's all gone. Makes me sad.

They had a nice little train ride to Ringos. Fun to take the ride, chillout and rest your feet from shopping. Pretty and scenic.

I loved the Dansk store there a lot.

@Queen of shop I used to like the Dansk store a lot too!  I also purchased a lot of my filler china pieces from the Mikasa store.

That train ride sounds like it was relaxing and fun.
