Apparently QVC for some reason cannot update and decrement their inventory. I read some of the post regarding Just missed it.This item is sold out. There are comments going back to 2010 complaining of this issue. Some of the items I search for are clearance items. Recently my searches reflected about 90% of the items I searched for were out of stock. Yet those OOS items remain available to search for weeks maybe more if I would take the time to followup. With some many IT experts out there, someone should should be able to resolve this issue....if QVC really wanted to.

@RosebudsMom. I don't think the problem is failure to update inventory, but rather problems with their computer system.
They've been upgrading the computer presumably to prepare for the arrival of HSN. I've only been inconvenienced once by a supposedly in stock item not being available for an extended time. I can live with that.

@RosebudsMomDo you mean that when you enter the item number the item comes up although it is out of stock? That is the way it is supposed to work. Some of us like to look up the item numbers for items we bought years ago and see the specifications for the item.

@Pyrite2616I can't speak for @RosebudsMom , but I've been trying for the past 24 hrs. to buy a pair of pants that show the size I want as being available but when I try to put it into my cart nothing happens. The cart still says zero items. So in this case it's the SIZE, not the item #.

One of my roles during my career was business analyst for IT projects. One tiny change can affect any number of other things. Their testing doesn't seem very accurate to me.
That said, Q's systems seem archaic to me. We can't do anything about it since we don't own the company. Go with it and move on.

Yes, it's been happening to me for weeks now. I can't believe their IT people haven't fixed this annoying issue.

Yes, this is SO annoying! It's happened to me at least ten times in the last two weeks. I love shopping the sales and clearance items, and literally every time I've found something in my size that shows as being available, the item suddenly becomes, "You just missed it" when I go to add it to my cart.
If humans are driven by learned behaviors, I would say this is going to curtail my shopping activities, big time. It's a huge tease to think you can purchase something, only to find you can not. In a short while, I will quickly learn not to bother trying.

Perhaps Kachina is correct about updating their computers to accommodate the merger of HSN,but problems with this website go way back and before HSN.
