@Tori3569   If you order a decent amount from QVC during the year $140 for s/h would not go very far.  We order a fair amount from Amazon, always quick free shipping and other perks for being a Prime subscriber.  Well worth it to us and something QVC should have done years ago.

@kaydee50  If QVC started charging $140 to shop on their site I would not be shopping here.  If the Q started charging as Amazon does and you have Prime you would be paying $280 just to shop.  No thanks.  As far as I know, Amazon is the only company charging a fee to shop.

@Biftu

I pay $99 for Walmart +

It is well worth it for me.

I rarely shop Amz, but when I have, I spend the $35 to get free shipping.

I Never get it in less than a week since I am not Prime.

@Biftu   How much do you pay in s/h, returns to shop here?  Just curious.

@kaydee50  In over thirty years shopping here I have made maybe two returns.  Not even close to $140 a year in s/h.

So I assume you only shop when there is free shipping--smart move!

@kaydee50

I rarely shop except for free shipping events and free shipping full days!  Save all in my WL.

Q has been very generous w/ free shipping events/items, so I have no problems waiting.

@RespectLife  Not being an on line shopper, i wasn't aware other companies charged a fee to shop on their sites.  Unfortunately it seems they are following in the footsteps of Amazon.  I would hate to see many companies charge a fee just to shop.

The few times I've shopped on Amazon as a non-prime member, like you I go for the free shipping and receive my items quickly.  If I needed something any quicker I would go out and get it.

Speaking of free shipping, I hate it when I've ordered from Amz and I need to add $.50 or so to get free shipping.  They get you to order another item.  At that point I'm out until I find something I really need.

Anyone can purchase from Amazon without becoming a Prime Member.  I do it all the time and get very good service.

We have been Prime members for years.  We get 4 or 5 Amazon deliveries a week.  Clothing, books, toiletries, large planters, food and vitamins. We also purchased large, raised planters delivered right to our backyard .Our membership more than pays for itself.

Just today, my husband got a book and I got a new pair of Sloggers for working in the garden. They were ordered on Tuesday, can't beat it.  It also saves gas since I don't have to run to the store every time we need something.  We do occasionally have a return, but they are easy peasy at our local Whole Foods store.

Lastly, we use a credit card (I think it's Chase) where we get 5% back on every Amazon and Foods purchase, so it helps overall.

@Blondie59  Wow, guess for heavy shoppers like you it may be worth it.  I got a $200 Amazon gift card for Christmas and other than buying batteries and a pair of knitting needles, I've yet to find anything to purchase.

@Biftu We buy books, laundry softener, canned sardines and tuna we can't get elsewhere, pasta not found locally, bottle brushes, scrub daddy sponges, bird food, Sharpie markers, envelopes, printer cartridges, sox, bath wash and soap, toothpaste and mouthwash, fabric softener, microfiber cloths, bug spray, cups, tumblers, water bottles, outdoor pillows that are great for inside too, dust busters, coffee makers, shelving, totes, ink pens, marble counter items for the bathroom, vitamines, and on and on.

It takes some heavy shopping to keep us going, and I am so glad I don't have to chase all over town any more to get what I need.  Buying the right light bulb is now days an exhausting search sometimes.  Unless you check it out on Amazon and get the right one that day.

@Sooner  I'm exhausted just looking at your list!  Luckily I live in an area where things are readily available without driving all over town.  I guess it's convenient if you live in a rural area.

@Biftu I don't live in a rural area.  But I'm not going to chase all over town looking for things and spending my retirement years going from store to store and aisle aisle looking for what may or may not be there either.  Now especially too many choices to make and specific items we have to buy that may or may not be carried locally.

I'd rather clean house, do laundry, cook, play the piano, read, or shop on the patio while I watch the birds and the squirrels.  WAY better than looking for a parking space or navigating the traffic!  Woman LOL

@Sooner  I get it.  Me, not a fan of cleaning house, doing laundry, or spending time shopping on line.  Retirement is different for us all.  You'd rather be in the house while I rather be out and about.  Whatever works.

@Biftu

You can do that w/ Walmart too (*min order for free ship), don't have to join.  I did that for a long while.

I get many perks as a +,  such as same day delivery, free delivery of my scripts, free delivery of one just item, easy store returns, curbside pickup etc.

Similar to Amazon but Walmart has food!  (from what I see, Amz charges extra to use their Whole Foods store)

I can do my entire grocery shopping and get wrapping paper to boot delivered for free.

For my circle of friends that use it, it is moreso for groceries.  Can't get a head of cauliflower from Amz!  LOL

Never been a fan of Mr/Mrs Bozos so I can find all my necessities at Wally instead.

If Wally + went as high cost wise as Amz, I'd just go back to regular.

@RespectLife  Walmart+ also has 10 cents per gallon off gas, and I also get Paramount Plus streaming service free.

There's always a lot to be thankful for if you take time to look for it.
For example, I am sitting here thinking how nice it is that wrinkles don't hurt.
