Re: QVC-Be better than this

[ Edited ]

Amazon works for me and my lifestyle! Shipping items to other people and easy free returns if it doesn't work for them.  I haven't had many problems, but when I do, they are quickly and professionally resolved.  It is worth the money spent. I have a relative who is in assisted living, and I send her stuff all the time.  She loves them!!  Especially when they bring snacks for her and her friends.

I don’t make any impulse buys from Amazon! I would fall for seeing it on TV and the sales pitch.

Hi @Biftu ... yes, it really is worth it for us.  We each read several books a month, and you can literally get the book delivered the same day.  Just last week I got two large bags of Miracle Grow for succulents delivered. They beat Home Depot and Lowe's by $5 per bag.

like any other shopping platform, you have to know what you are looking for and how much you want to spend. I still shop at brick and mortar stores, but Amazon fits our lifestyle.

We have been Prime members for years.  We get 4 or 5 Amazon deliveries a week.  Clothing, books, toiletries, large planters, food and vitamins. We also purchased large, raised planters delivered right to our backyard .Our membership more than pays for itself.

Just today, my husband got a book and I got a new pair of Sloggers for working in the garden. They were ordered on Tuesday, can't beat it.  It also saves gas since I don't have to run to the store every time we need something.  We do occasionally have a return, but they are easy peasy at our local Whole Foods store.

Lastly, we use a credit card (I think it's Chase) where we get 5% back on every Amazon and Foods purchase, so it helps overall.

@Blondie59  Wow, guess for heavy shoppers like you it may be worth it.  I got a $200 Amazon gift card for Christmas and other than buying batteries and a pair of knitting needles, I've yet to find anything to purchase.

@Biftu We buy books, laundry softener, canned sardines and tuna we can't get elsewhere, pasta not found locally, bottle brushes, scrub daddy sponges, bird food, Sharpie markers, envelopes, printer cartridges, sox, bath wash and soap, toothpaste and mouthwash, fabric softener, microfiber cloths, bug spray, cups, tumblers, water bottles, outdoor pillows that are great for inside too, dust busters, coffee makers, shelving, totes, ink pens, marble counter items for the bathroom, vitamines, and on and on.

It takes some heavy shopping to keep us going, and I am so glad I don't have to chase all over town any more to get what I need.  Buying the right light bulb is now days an exhausting search sometimes.  Unless you check it out on Amazon and get the right one that day.

Hi @Shelbelle, the card is actually for Amazon, but since it is a visa, can be used anywhere. Lots of retailers do this. I've seen it with William Sonoma and Talbots,

So our Amazon purchases get us 5% back, and we also get a percentage back for gas and restaurant spending.  If you look at Chase you should find the card. It probably doesn't work for everyone, but it does for us.

I shop at both Amazon and the Q.  I pay for prime and I do a lot of shopping at the Q when they have free shipping.  I don't need anything I purchase from the Q the next day.

I rarely return at the Q and Amazon.

I also have the Amazon Chase card that pays 5% for all Amazon purchases.

@Pearlsgirls 🌼

You can’t compare QVC to Amazon. 🥴

Amazon SELLS EVERYTHING including :

automobile parts, insulation, building products, small engine parts, pharmacy and groceries (Whole Foods), power tools, riding lawn mowers, tractors, tires, furnace parts, air conditioning parts, bicycles, dog food, cat food, kitchen appliances, washers and dryers etc etc.

Amazon owns their own delivery trucks, vans and roughly 98 planes !! (Aka Amazon AIR )

QVC relies on UPS and USPS (post office) service.

AND of course Amazon has WAAaaaay more warehouses than QVC !!

No comparison between the two ! 🥴

@Sooner  I'm exhausted just looking at your list!  Luckily I live in an area where things are readily available without driving all over town.  I guess it's convenient if you live in a rural area.

I always price check before buying from Q. The vast majority of the time, I find what I want elsewhere for less money and free shipping.

The Sketchers website often offers promo codes that are better than Q's.

@Pearlsgirls

Paragraphs and a larger font would be SO helpful to many of us.
