I paid my $79 bill off in April.  This month, I get a bill for $2 for interest.  I called and asked what this charge was for, I paid off my bill the previous month.  I was told it was interest was from the first of the month.  I asked the rep to remove this charge and she said no.  I canceled the card.  I was charged $2 for nothing. Rip off.

Did you pay it off after the due date?  If so, interest would be on the balance from the due date until you paid it off.

I ended my Q Card when I was charged 25.00 by Synchrony for being late on my payment. (I wasn't) The next month, same thing. I emailed them and never heard back. That was it for me. Turns out I'm glad I don't have the card anymore. Way too tempting.

I had the same issue I paid my Q card well in advance (as soon as I received it - it went out the next day). They claimed they did not receive the payment until the day after it was due. They charge me $40 for interest and another fee. I called them and spoke to a representative, who gave me some money off. I filed a claim with the Federal Trade Commission against them and got a full refund. If you look at the reviews, Synchrony Bank is known for it's deceptive practices of billing interest in late fees, even for good customers.

@Effie54 🌸

WOW I guess I’m lucky. I’ve never had a problem with Synchrony.

But I’m enrolled in the automatic payments that pays off my balance each month.

I don’t take a chance on the mail anymore ! Especially now days that they changed the post mark policy.

Years ago i mailed a check for payment that didn’t make it in time to LL bean and they charged me a $40 late fee.

I called and they removed it as a courtesy, since I had never been late before.

I can’t imagine what LL Beans Late fee is NOW. 😳

NOT to mention the cost of a stamp ! 🥴

I had no idea they were up to 78 cents now. That can add UP FAST !!

I had the same issue with Symphony bank!  They issue our CareCredit card.  My husband had three impants, quite a hefty bill at the dentist.  I paid a chunk before the the next month's billing cycle began, so Symphony charged a late fee on the next month's bill.  I called, complained and got to a Supervisor.  I said this practice wasn't documented in the agreement and I would be reporting them for deceptive practices.  I got the late charge and interest removed.  I am very careful about using the card going forward.

I never had any bad dealings w/my Q and HSN cards because I only used them when they had a credit for opening an account.

After that, never used them again. I don't like Synchrony Bank and I will continue to use the credit card I have always used.
