I do like Antonella and you can tell she really loves jewelry.... ...... it will be interesting to see what changes they make to the show without LR. And I hope they show more of the host and vendors and less of the buyer.
Have a GREAT weekend!
I might see how the gold show is different with Antonella
@jackthebear Hi JACKTHEBEAR at least jewelry is a definite improvement over a day of electronics!!!! ......and after AM STYLE no more Q for me on Saturday!!!!

Hey REBECCA----Pollyanna here......and I just want to encourage everyone to play the "glad game".....Pollyanna's philosophy of life centres on what she calls "The Glad Game" an optimistic attitude she learned from her father. The game consists of finding a silver lining in the darkest clouds, something in everything to be glad about. Now isn't this a wonderful attitude to have?
Well I'm glad you liked the photos---but this site is now sure picky about the photos it will accept but at least under this new system you can even edit after a reply is posted, in the old system once there was a reply your out of luck and could no longer edit. So that is one positive I'm "glad" about ....LOL!!!!
But oh yes I had to be careful and word everything so diplomatically and some things I wanted to say I went ahead and removed.....yep I concur like walking on egg shells.....
Well we've gotten some on and off "monsoon" type showers and a terrible lightning/thunder storm at 4AM.....and then some showers this morning....but it's SUPPOSED to clear up with a smaller chance of showers and sunshine next week......but it's been awfully HUMID!!!....But that tropical storm did not affect us as much as they anticipated it was more northeast of us.....
I actually got some spring...errr....summer cleaning started. I cleaned out my pantry and threw a bunch of stuff I had in a small storage cabinet within my pantry---mostly arts and crafts stuff....just kept the things I use....and organized all the food and stuff on all the shelves. And I went through my bedroom closet from h e l l---well kinda/sorta...at least I went through my clothes and have a bag of stuff to donate...but sooooooooo much more to do on the closet......it's a bit overwhelming!
This weekend I need to go to Target and get some rubbermaid containers and get a couple things at Lowe's for my patio...and I'm still on the hunt for that kitchen rug---they actually had a braided kitchen rug at Stein Mart but wrong color and it was just a tiny bit too big---GREAT PRICE..oh well the search continues.....
It sounds like you have some fun things planned for this weekend and I hope the weather holds up for you so you can enjoy your pool time .....if not, well enjoy your baseball---I think the Texas representative from the College World Series is TCU....the poor horned frogs don't get any publicity it all goes to either the University of Texas or Texas A&M......40 days until NFL training camp....
Take care!
Rebecca here... and by golly, everything's just so gosh darned wonderful... Just twitching with delight...!!!!! Gosh (whoops! am I allowed to say that...?)... I do SO wish they'd included a sweet little curly-cue font... but isn't this color just an absolute confection!!!!! Puts me in the mind of a sweet little bonbon... !!!!!
I just noted a member of the lollipop guild's rejoicing about removal of posts... and really, what a long, strange trip it's been... and continues to be... The walking on egg shells, as you put it, is going to get old (yes, even for Rebecca) so the jury is still out as to how long I'll stick around to put up with this nonsense... The least they could've done was include The Q Did What as the one place where we might be able to let 'er rip... And as I said elsewhere, I'm fully convinced that we're being monitored and are only allowed to drink milk while posting on these forums...
Don't know about the pool today... We're having some sun, but it's in and out and seems hardly worth it... It's only... in the high 80's with what I suppose some would view as tolerable humidity, and compared with the 97 we're expected to see next week, I suppose this is balmy... but I slept in today and am in no hurry to get rolling.... Took my mom to an early dinner and to Homegoods yesterday and then myself to the grocery, and it was so hot and miserable, that I'md so not feeling the motivation to leave the house today... In fact, I have done nothing productive since cleaning the bath last week... and don't look for that to change today...
And yes, I've noted this new and, ahem, improved... format is very picky about the pictures we can insert... I've also noted that once or twice it asked permission to make a change before posting the pictures... I don't know... SO sophisticated in some ways and so, well, REBECCA in others... Go figure...
Homegoods had some really pretty large rugs yesterday, but nothing I wanted enough to buy... There was one that was gorgeous, but a woman bought it while I was standing there. It probably wouldn't have been for me anyway... Didn't check out the smaller rugs, but they sometimes have smaller braideds, and you can still order the smaller ones at least somewhat reasonably from JCP... I also note Home Decorators has some and, did you check out Overstock...? I actually went to Homegoods because mom was looking for some things, but decided as long as I was going, I was finally primed to buy a pretty dresser I'd seen there the last two trips... It had been around for about a month, but wouldn't you know, when I was finally in buying mode, it was gone... Of course, they wanted to suggest I go look at the other local stores, of which there are three, but I have no intention of driving all over Northern Virginia... And THIS is what we miss about 'discount'... In the day, a 'better' store would've called other stores to check availability... Oh well, easy come, easy go and money saved, I guess...
I've actually become quite a fan of the Horned Frogs (ridiculous nickname...) having watched them several times this past week... I was sorry to see them eliminated last week by the upper crust from Vandy... No love last for them, since they won last year, defeating my own preferred team... But I have to say, those boys are good... I'll be pulling for Florida, assuming they eliminate my Virginia boys later today. Florida is also really good, but should Vanderbilt repeat, it won't be like they don't deserve it... They really are a very good team... I've virtually given up on any of the teams from Virginia ever winning anything... Always the bridesmaid, it seems...
Enjoy what remains of the weekend and hope your shopping trip and foray into cleaning are successful! And along those lines, Rebecca whats to suggest that you whistle while you work...
Ahem...

@lynnsy wrote:Beginning of article about Ontairo,CA... maybe west coast customers might be getting items faster in the near futre... Long article and still not final deal yet but it looks like they are looking to store and have ability to ship from west coast too. It would be nice to get items faster than the 7-10 business days, which is my usual ship time.
As seen on TV, and shipped from Ontario?
QVC is in talks to open a giant warehouse here that might ship $500 million or more in merchandise annually to home shoppers.
If built, the warehouse would total 1 million square feet, roughly the size of four Wal-Mart Supercenters, and would employ more than 900 people.
**********************************************************************************************
@vicalynn Interesting....so does this mean QVC's "experiment" to have the manufacturers ship stuff has failed????????????? Well I am glad it wil at least create jobs for 900 people, I just hope the California warehouse is more efficient than the one in NC ---With the NC warehouse it seems more frequently when some of us received another person's order or items were damaged and never shipped and no notification was sent, or it seemed the delivery was done by Pony Express.....
Maybe the scores of people they're laying off here in the east could head west... And if they were 'very busy on the phone lines' before, be looking for that complete telephone meltdown... But hey, wait, if they're closing a call center because all the 'devices' are picking up the slack, well then how can they be 'very busy on the phone lines'... Huh, sort of makes you ponder and scratch the old noggin, doesn't it...

I must vote for the Dad on Father Knows Best. I love them all, but I always loved him so much and he called his little daughter "Kitten", and I loved that !!! He kind of looked like my father as well so my vote goes to him !
I'm going to watch Antonella and give her all of my support. I know she is very excited to do these shows and I know for sure her heart is totally in it. She is very sincere and happy to have this job, knows the country, the language, the product. Much of what I might not be able to say about Lisa !
Antonella needs our support and she has mine.
I am totally miserable about this new format. it's not as fun or friendly as the old one.
Could someone please tell me why our wording has to be improved from the previous format?
Don't know if I will stay here or not at this point. I may not be able to adjust.
*********************************************************************************************
@redhead65 Hi REDHEAD---After the dramatic changes in Q's format I thought we could all use a smile....SHEESH!!! Who was the designer of this mess!!! ....ARRRGGHHH!!!! I am not a bit happy....
As for Fathers Knows Best, I used to think that the show was a bit stiff and preachy---the perfect and unrealistic perfect family with many senitmental episodes compared to some of the other family sitcoms back in the day, BUT I recently discovered a channel called ANTENNA TV (you can go to their website to see if your local or cable or satellite carries it).....and on the days I work from home I've tuned in (its on early in the morning)....and what I discovered is that the Fathers Knows Best episodes were VERY FUNNY and the kids weren't so perfect after all.....LOL!!!! The only thing that drives me a bit crazy is that Jim needs to take off that suit jacket and tie when he gets home from work and sits down and reads the paper...HEY JIM RELAX!!!! So REDHEAD, Jim Anderson is a good choice !!!!
Antonella is one of the few GENUINE hosts and I think it's because her background is the medical field instead of the TV or show biz field.....maybe QVC needs to hire more REAL PEOPLE than those with a previous career in broadcasting!!! I heard long ago (before I started watching QVC) she had an Italiian cooking show and I think Q should bring that back.....And you can tell she really really loves jewelry and knows the culture and language so I'm glad she got the gig!!!
As for the new wording and walking on eggshells (i.e. the new Standards)---that was just something that QVC appeared to throw in with the format changes----so what was the purpose of all those surveys and threads asking us for Format feedback anyway???????????? It seems a couple of folks have contacted Corporate and made their opinions known and QVC caved in and disregarded the feelings of the majority of the Community!!! Oh it may force everyone to write only "happy talk"" about hosts and vendors, but I think the Moderators are in for a shock because I don't think it will stop the backbiting and especially mean spirited and snarky comments amongst the posters ......JMHO....stay tuned!!!
Let me just say that I like Antonella too, though I probably won't be watching much, mainly because I don't think the jewelry is really going to be anything special... and that I fully support our (apparently former) ability to express reasoned criticism... That said, I do wonder why it's necessary to knock down one host (or in this instance, former host) to build up another... At this point, the shows from Italy are Antonella's to 'make or break'. Lisa no longer has anything to do with them.

@Spurt wrote:OMG!!!! I know I previously mentioned that I watch AM STYLE on Saturday (well these days lets say its on as background noise---I mean how long do they need to talk about lipstick---that item took up most of the show).not much on early Saturday morning, other than the same news from last night....whatever happened to Saturday morning cartoons---. Anyway after AM STYLE I was busy pouring another cup of coffee and was not quick enough to change the channel to AVOID Saturday Morning Q---and what did I see and hear but an all new opening for the show---and really giving the names of the producer and all the production people as we watch David and Kerstein get ready for the show---it seems that the IT Dept weren't the only ones busy this week---and I was stunned and watched in horror as the hosts made them replay the opening in case someone missed it---OH BROTHER!!! Of course, they will be presenting the same ole stuff (while the annoying new music plays softly in the background ---it just proves the saying....you can put lipstick on a pig....(and you know the rest)....
QVC why don't you correct the actual things that need fixing...ya know like this new lousy format and stale programming & products for a start......
Rebecca here... and heaven's to mergatroyd, Spurt, is that negativity I see... Why, I think I'm going to boo hoo...
That said, I couldn't agree more... All this time and attention (not to mention money, limited though their revenue stream appears increasingly to be... ahem...) spent on 'production values' just seems so shallow and pointless... Until they ramp up the actual PRODUCT mix, all the rest is just the proverbial lipstick on that tired old sow...

I think Ricky Ricardo deserves some credit, putting up with Lucy. I don't know how he did it.
No one mentioned Al Bundy in running for best father. Who wouldn't want him as Dad? If nothing else, he supported the family as best he could on minimum wage.
We have had a lot of rain here in Indiana. There have been parts of the city that have flooded; the area in which I live is still OK.. Thundershowers are predicted for tonight and tomorrow again. We haven't had this much rain in a long time.

Spurt... reading about the new opening made me remember that last week while I was having my car repaired and watching their TV while I waited, I was using the remote and came across QVC... The description said.... A Fast Paced Shopping Channel.... I almost choked on my coffee, and your description of the long sell on lipstick and repeat of new opening, well that surely ain't fast.
I do hope they get a warehouse built in So. Calif., but time will tell. Some other state may swoop in offer something better to QVC.
Well back to the Blue Bloods marathon... never get tired of looking at Tom Selleck!

SPURT... You posted the below on another thread earlier in the week, but when I went to read the standards earlier, it appears to be an older version and I don't see this posting. Can you tell me where you found it, as I'd like to check it out.

Never mind Spurt, I found it... Interesting that they would have 'guidelines' under the 'getting started' section that differ from the also posted 'standards'... You'd think they'd combine these into one more concise statement... On the other hand... 'careful what you ask for' might apply here.
