Along with the interest rate, they will charge $1.99 to get a statement in the mail.

All you need is a check/debit card. No interest charged because you are not buying more than you can afford since it's tied to your checking account. No statement charge either. I highly recommend in lieu of using a credit card unless you're paying the balance in full every month.

Yes, Nick’ s mom, you are right. Our Lowe’s card just went up to 31%, too. We paid it off and are not using it. If you opt out does that affect your credit rating?

@Yes as I understand it.  Better just to not use it than close the account.

You are so right, LisaMartha! Congress could care less about the treatment of the American people! They are so out of touch with the state of our country.

Congress doesn't control interest rates.   The Federal Reserve does.

Credit card rates are set by the bank that owns the card.

I don't understand why people are complaining about high interest rates on credit cards because if you pay them off every month, it doesn't affect you. If you carry a balance from month to month, then it is hard to pay it off. I wonder if people understand about credit cards. All credit cards have increased their interest rates. This Is our world going forward.

We only use our Lowe's card on higher priced items so we can get the 5% discount. Not much but every bit adds up. We pay our balance in full.
