I think they are testing the waters and trying zulily's way of doing things. I bought wow mouse a couple weeks ago in the private sale. It's a relatively new product. I hadn't seen it on the q before.

MY question is what is so "Private" about it? When one is invited to a private event it is usually restricted to only certain people. As far as I can tell anyone who goes to the QVC main web page can link to it so,how can they refer to it as private?

I signed up to see what the Private Access was all about. It is definitely not anywhere close to fire sale/clearance prices. The 50% off price they tout is 50% off "Comparable Retail Value" which is a bogus number. It's not 50% off the price the item was ever sold at.
From what I can tell, these are items that have never been sold on QVC. New to QVC. I can't believe QVC thinks this is going to be something their customer would want. I am sure there are many people who purchase these items not noticing they can not be returned unless the item is damaged or you were sent the wrong item.
If you are looking for truly "fire sale" prices on items that CAN BE RETURNED head over to HSN. I just purchased this G by Guilana Rancic Moto Jacket
(item 461-082) that HSN sold for $129.90 for $9.95, Currently sold out but I have it in my favorites and 1 or 2 pop back in stock every few days. Got the Navy.

And this Iman Platinum Collection Convertible City Coat (item 437-385) that HSN sold for $199.90 for $29,90. Again, I have it on my favorites and 1 or 2 keep popping back in stock. Have picked up 2 so far in Navy and Brown Tweed.

I will never understand why QVC keeps trying to sell items at full QVC f price for vendors who are no longer with them, HSN clearances out merchandise from vendors whose contracts have expired and they haven't renewed. The items I purchased at "fire sale" prices, are from popular vendors still with HSN.
But not QVC. There is still a Michael Dawkins ring I am interested in but still at full QVC price. As well as some Black Hills gold pieces. And why after, how many years, are there still Rachel Zoe items. She hasn't been with QVC in a few years now. Don't understand QVC's policy of holding on to this merchandise instead of offering truly clearances prices to sell it and move on.

How about those Maxx NY handbags that are still in QVC's inventory? Cherie Christmas hasn't been a vendor on QVC in about 5 years or so.
How about Wendy Williams? She moved over to HSN more than a year ago and yet QVC still has her inventory.
What about Star Jones? It's been a few years since she was a QVC vendor and yet QVC.com still has her inventory as well.
QVC never gets rid of old inventory like other merchants do.

It's my kind of sale. The prices are really good and there's a diversity of products.
I know the no-returns policy makes this a gamble so I would probably stick to brands I am familiar with.
I bought the Dr. Gross alpha pads earlier this week and today bought the Kate Somerville mask. Both are crazy great deals for products I already use and love.

Love those and you really got a bargain! Good job! I'm sure you'll enjoy them soon!

I don't know. They strike me as just another lame marketing attempt on the part of QVC to ramp up those lousy financials... I've checked out the few they had to date and been underwhelmed. Not saying there might not be an item or two to appeal to someone, but to me, the pickings have been slim and, as always, the variety just hasn't been there. The access, I guess, was wasted on me because I never bought a thing... Regardless, I see that after, what is it three or so of them, they've now issued a proclamation that the current one is the 'last one for a while'... Whatever...
And then there's their utter joke of a Labor Day "clearance"...
Why do they even have to ask why they're floundering...

I have to admit that this caught my curiosity. I'm all about a "real" sale. I like the concept but I do wish they would list the reviews with the products. It takes an extra step for me to have to check the brand or a product similar to what is listed to make my decision.
I placed my first order last week and received it this week. was for a skin care item. I'm pleased with the deal I got. I hope they continue this feature. IMO it's the same as a clearance rack in your favorite store.
