Yesterday on of the hosts said a product at $39.98 was under $40.00. The host never mentioned shipping or taxes.

They never mention shipping unless it's *free* shipping.  And, taxes differ from state to state, so they wouldn't know that amount anyway.

What infuriates me is when the host will say "you can own this for only $4.99!"   When $4.99 is the easy pay amount ... the actual cost of the item is $25.00, but it's only  $4.99 to place the order.  They do this on both QVC and HSN.  They will never mention the actual price, just the easy pay amount.

What gets me is the  biggest  in " Christmas in July"  sale. I'm not seeing much as far as sale prices , some markdown on last years items .Don't understand why they say it's the biggest sale yet ? Is it because they have alot of last years items they did not mark down as much as   most retailers ?

@Group 5 minus 1,  asking you that question is reasonable and you should be able to give him a reasonable estimate.

To expect the host to be able to give a total price is not.  Recently, I purchased and item and a friend that lives in a neighboring county bought the same item.  Her total was $2.50 more than mine because of her county's tax compared to mine.

How is the host supposed to give a total?  If Q tried to do that we would be lucky to see one item a week just so they could get through all the possibilities.  Then there would be complaints that "I missed" my total.

I do agree though that the host should mention the total ITEM price as opposed to simply stating x easy pays of...

There are things in life to get upset about but honestly I don't believe these things such as not saying the total price or some of the complaints here warrant being upset about, at least not for me.    Good grief is right!

in all fairness to the hosts they give the total price a lot.  Sometimes they will give the shipping but usually only mention it if it is free shipping.  When they say you can get it home for X amount of money, it is not a lie you can get it HOME for that amount of money but you still have to pay ftor the rest of it.

Sales tax varies from county to county so they will never give that.

I agree with a previous poster, of all the things in life to get upset about, to me this is not one of them.

My best advice is do your research, don't get caught up in the hype.  and Don't let the small stuff get to you.  (I seldom take that last piece of advice as I often let small stuff get to me but things the hosts say or don't say is certainly not one of them)
