@LikeToKnow No, I do not think it is an insult.  Funny story - last Sunday my DD visited from another state and gave me my Xmas present.  Among the gifts was P00-Pourri.  My great grandson, age 6, who lives with me asked me what it was for.  After I told him and explained how to use it he looked at me with the oddest expression, then out from this little boy came a howl of laughter and then rolling on the floor because he couldn't stop laughing.  It was hysterical just seeing his reaction.  That was the best gift ever.

@LikeToKnow   I do not think it as an insult so much as I think it is just a stupid gift.

 

To me it's just one of those "gifts" given because one feels obligated to give "something".
