All this Over 50 stuff.  All it does is emphasize those of us who are over 50 must be an isolated old group.  Some of the folks on front of this website are reat representations of loverly women over 50 - but then - many of them are quite unrelatable - at least hopefully.  Don't need QVC to tell me at 73 that I am fabulous - just like I was in my 30's, 40's, 50's etc. - ya get it?

I wouldn't mind these shows if they were serious but they make a joke about issues that women over 50 experience.  I don't see menopause and other issues that women have as they grow older as humorous.  I will watch the shows if they have actual experts with legitimate advice about health issues.

Absolutely quit with the over fifty.  It really is no big deal.   For me it is just a distant memory with no consequences or changes.   No different than turning 33 or any other age.

I think it is their own problems personally with facing the fact they are over 50.  Many of which are well over 50 and by using that number and putting themselves in that bracket makes them feel young again.  I think the whole thing is just stupid, I certainly do not need to be reminded constantly that I am fabulous.  Some days I am and many days I am not that is life.

As someone in the midst of peri, I appreciate a serious dialogue about symptoms and conversations to have with doctors. Growing up when I did, people barely talked about the monthly stuff, and certainly not menopause.  I always thought it happened to "older people" but had no idea how young it actually can start, etc. My friends and female co-workers, and family members are being very open about it with each other if for no other reason but to share information and to no longer be in the dark. And I do hope younger generations properly educate themselves and know they do not have to be alone in this change in life.

However, I do not appreciate someone hocking a product under the guise that they are "friends" trying to help. As someone else noted, it would not be bad if they had reputable doctors and not just another vendor with another gummy, or hair loss contraption or pill, because the whole process is "so terrible"  and you MUST make yourself feel "like a woman/pretty/whatever so please buy this!" it might be worthwhile.

I also wanted to say that many people on these boards over the years have commented on the Over50 intro by Mally which some found offensive. I find SK's intro to Menopause Monday classless. I am not offended by it at all, but I am surprised that promo is the best that Q thought they could do to promote this "show".  The amount of leeway they give her to say whatever she wants is baffling.

@just wonder   I see no reason I should think talk from a TV person applies to me if I know it doesn't.
