Pinot Noir is pronounced Peno Nu Waar NOT peno NO  R

I sure wish someone would tell the hosts how to pronounce it.

I speak English and French. When hosts, and other broadcasters, mispronounce words in either language I cringe. They don't have to be fluent in countless languages but hosts can learn how to pronounce foreign words (and English words) that they don't know. Just look it up on your phone and hear it pronounced. For some of us, this mispronunciation indicates careless ignorance in a profession that should demand accuracy in pronunciation.

@ValuSkr  Thanks for teaching me a new word today. I should hang my head in shame as both adult kids are Oenophiles.  I also checked my pronunciation and I was pretty close.  The O threw me.  LOL  Hosts could easily check via their computer or phone.

What does it really matter - it does not change the product in any way.   As long as you know what the product is or what they are saying in spite of supposed mispronounciation, I know I really do not care.  It seems so picky and unnecessary!!  Maybe if this were a very high end business that catered to the snobby rich then no big deal if a sales person mispronounces anything.  Also I have heard many different pronounciations of this as well as other things posted about!

It's really pretty basic, @Teddixat - one of the first wine names to learn.

They probably aren't familiar with film noir, either.

If it didn't matter, we would all be talking jibberish.

Some of you wouldn’t be happy if they hung you with a new rope.
