I really, really don't want to hear so much about Christmas, when summer isn't even over yet. I have never seen the point of rushing out of one season, into another. It's like wishing your life away. It's like not savoring or appreciating the now.
But that's just me. I know why vendors do it, they want to sell as much as possible.
But I figure, I don't have to buy into it, and I more or less resfuse to do so.
My fall stuff comes out in the middle of September, Halloween decor comes out in October, and I leave all the fall, harvesty looking decorations right through Thanksgiving.
And no way do I put up Christmas decorations for Thanksgiving. They have always been two separate holidays for me, and I don't like to merge them.
I do understand why people like to get Christmas decor up early, just because it's so much work, if you do a lot, and it's nice to have it up for a longer time, but even so, I just don't care to do that.
The thing I can't understand though, are the people who claim they take all Christmas decor down, the day after Christmas. I'm just astounded at that one, since when I was growing up, the whole week after Christmas, was still Christmas, right up to New Years Day.
I guess customs changed, but I like keeping the seasons and the holidays separate and timely.

Me too. Can't stand the CIJ shows
I don't watch either. Hate how they bombard us with X-mas stuff so early. I remember back in the day when CIJ started, they devoted one weekend in July, now it's not only the whole month of July but they start it earlier and earlier. They don't even wait till July as this year it began in June.

If what you're ordering comes from the Ontario warehouse, you'd better order it in June in order to get it by December.

I don't know, my sisters and I have gone out several times in last three weeks to the home stores and people are shopping the holiday sections. Carts are loaded and people are buying.

I buy what I want yr. around. When husband died got rid of all the Xmas boxes and junk. Don't want the hassle of a tree and junk sitting around. I know it's Christmas.
Just send money to sisters. Church gets extra. Give cards to the relatives and church folk.
Christian holiday.

Seems like Q and HSN have extended the Christmas shows well past July and now into August.
Halloween shows also this week.
What the Heck.
This overkill of Fall/Christmas shopping shows is not only boring, but way over done.
I smell desperation, but I can't put my finger on WHY they are doing this.
