Ontario, CA Distribution Center

Coming home from Upland, CA this afternoon I accidentially passed the QVC Distribution Center on QVC Way. Oh my gosh - no wonder these distibution centers get thngs screwed up......I have never ever seen such a huge distribution center......it was so big you couldn't see around it much less the huge truck loading area. By seeing that I guess we are lucky to get what we get and when we get them???????????????

Not necessarily, @grooms. We have an Amazon distribution center in Tucson and it supposedly is a million square feet! I think it is probably a good 10-minute walk from the parking lot to the front door. Anyway, that doesn't seem to cause Amazon any issues, so I think it is a matter of management/leadership and their processes (or lack of) that is the main reason that QVC shipping has been so horrible.

@Lisa now in AZ I was just going to mention the Amazon center. The size is incredible. I get same day delivery on a lot of items.

Also, when I order QVC items that ship from Ontario the shipping date is a lot faster than when they come from back east. I think that warehouse does a better job.

I've had excellent experiences receiving my orders from the Ontario warehouse. I breathe a sigh of relief when I see an order is shipping from that location.

I agree with most of you about the delivery out of Ontario, CA. Same with me - so happy to see they are coming from Ontario and usually get my orders within 2 days - 3 days max. Also have an Amazon and Wal Mart distribution centers near me which are big - biut nothing as big as QVC! I am speachless about the size of that place but have nothing more to compare it with.

The new QVC/HSN distribution center in Bethlehem PA is 1.7 million square feet! It is the span of 30 football fields.

Amazon can get their items out quick due to automation. I read that the items are picked by robot. My job relates to warehousing, so I take interest in what's going on our there. The warehouse in PA is going to be crazy big. If the Q doesn't get on the automated bandwagon, they will crash and burn. I don't like when my items come from CA. They take a long time to ship. An item arrived today from CA. It took 9 days to come, I think it was 5 days processing and 4 days traveling. Things from PA have been coming in 4 or 5 days.

Doesn't matter how large the facility if you can't get the items shipped. These " in process" for days and days are ridiculous. An item should be picked and out in 24 hours. Then we're at the mercy of USPS. It's all a cluster of a mess. I had to laugh yesterday, Tuesday, when Amy said if you purchase these, you'll be enjoying them by Monday, really? I thought dear, they'll still be in process.
