I was wondering why sometimes older threads like from last year show up? I checked and it is not that someone posted on them.

When I see an older thread resurface, there's always a recent post. Oftentimes, I'll start reading through the thread and start hearting posts not realizing it's from a year ago.

Hi, @CherryHugs! Good morning! 😊 The only way I know of for a thread to move up among those with current posts is for someone to bump with a response.
I think the "auto suggestions" cause some problems, with old threads seeming to be available for current posting.
When we're in the process of starting a new thread, old threads do show up as "auto suggestions" as we begin typing our thread title. If we choose one of those and reply, that bumps the old thread instead of creating a new one. The "auto suggestions" also appear when we use the search bar in the forums.
Since thread bumping is a standards violation, and the process can be confusing, I do wish the company that manages the software here would close old threads that are deemed too old for replies.
I've been working in IT for most of my life, and I'm aware that it's basic, simple programming to loop through all the threads, "look" at the date of the last reply, compare it to whatever is considered too old, and close the thread. It can be done quickly, easily, and could be saved as a maintenance program to run daily or weekly, closing threads that were something like "today's date minus one year." That would leave them for reference but avoid the constant bumping. However, this has been suggested time and time again, and it's pretty evident that QVC uses a bare-bones forum package that doesn't allow for any customization.

I think newer posters who don't realize we aren't allowed to bump up threads are the ones who do so.
But there are times when the info in an old thread is needed. There are ways to use that without bumping.
I've started a new thread, included a link to an older thread that's full of great info, and then I'll write a reminder to readers to keep their replies on the new thread, and not to heart or reply on the linked one. I've also asked mods to 'lock up' a thread so the link can be read but not responded to.

I just started reading a thread from 2015!! IT was about Amy Stran's hair, so I'm searching for a picture somewhere, then noticed the date.

I think rather than start a new thread, posters just use the old ones to post on. I have done that a few times and did not realize it was a no no.
