Forgive me, but I need to get on a soapbox and vent.
Most times I just scroll by reviews that have no relevance to the product/item...like a review about another product/item entirely (reviewer used the wrong item # and didn't check it), a rant about shipping, host or vendor.
Every once in awhile for me, it's still frustrating to know that there is nobody checking reviews as they are posted. I have reported a few of them over the years hoping a particular review is fixed (put with the correct item/product) or removed for having no relevance.
Since that has never helped, QVC...then why do you have a report button for each review in the 1st place?
UGH.
Why am I starting a thread about this now?
I just checked Mally's new cardigan (A711599) to see if there were anymore new reviews posted. There was one new review today and not only did it bring down the review rating from a perfect 5 star (thus far), it is about another garment entirely...a sweatshirt.
Reviews will never be always perfect/relevant, but it would be nice to actually see some improvements on this issue. One can hope...

I have also reported reviews that have nothing to do with the product through the years.
I don't know if the Q will ever care about the inaccuracy of the reviews. They probably just don't have the manpower to oversee it.

Quite some time ago we were told the review monitoring was contracted to an outside entity.. it's obvious the only thing they screen for are profanities.
Actually nowadays a computer can probably do that so it's possible nobody screens them unless they're flagged.

Maybe they have an unsupervised AI bot doing the reviews.

misinformation is rampant......
- in reviews
- in the forum
- on the social media posts
they do nothing about this
can't imagine the labor it would take to fact check

It is not just here, see it all over. Even with the wrong items in the pics.

Most companies use a 3rd party program to screen reviews. If the review doesn't trigger the algorhythm in the program, it gets posted. There is no human review.
It would cost Q a fortune to pay the 3rd party to change the algorhythm just for them. Q is already in the hole on so many levels that such a change would never meet the cost/benefit anaysis.
I helped develop an algorhythm before I retired. It's not as easy or simple as people think.
That said, I have never understood the angst about reviews. I don't care if someone is off topic, talks about shipping woes, delays or anything else. I just ignore what I don't think matters and movce on.
