Okay, new show hosts, now's the time...

to step up and learn from Jill Bauer how to be professional, how to prepare to present products, how to be honest and how to earn the trust of your QVC viewers.  I always completely trusted Jill whenever I had any double about a product; she never steered me wrong.  So for newer show hosts, including some mid-level timers, put us your customers first, present your products knowledgeably, and try to be a little more down to earth and humble.  Otherwise, QVC will not survive!

New younger hosts being brought in for freshness.  Jill has done her time.  Can't say she was a favorite.  MB should be next to go.

I think that's asking a lot, to be honest I mean, working for the Q today. I think they do need to be prepared though and make the presentation about the product and not about themselves or their families.

@just wonder   I was fortunate to see Jill while on the QVC Tour.

We saw the Quacker Factory with Jeannie, then saw Jill presenting We had to be very quiet on a catwalk up high. Jill was on a set presenting an item. While she talked the camera was on the item and she kept talking while walking across the studio for the next item, shuffling many papers.

My friend and I had new respect for Jill and the hosts since seeing all they have to do and how automated the production is.

I agree, sometimes the hosts get carried away with chatting but their job is quite demanding.

New show host?   There's one rather new one that seems to be stretched out on the couch with glass of wine when I check in - - granted if they stay they should get better at the hosting job.................but you can't replace vintage experienced women for the new bus load of what-a-bees.

@just wonder :  Jill wasn't always so polished; I remember when she was new and sounded just like a Valley Girl.  Obviously QVC saw that she had promise and shipped her off to QVC Britain for a number of months (she came back as a polished presenter).

I enjoyed Jill at QVC but she probably picked a good time to go. With three channels, no one is exempt from long shifts. Shawn was complaining the other night about a four hour shift. Shopping TV channels may soon be extinct because younger people do everything online. Life is all about change, accepting change is key.

Seriously, complaining about a 4-hour shift?  How many times has Jane Treacy been on air for what seems like forever (does that woman ever go home?) and I have never heard her complain and she continues to smile throughout.  Get over yourself because you are not all that.  You could learn a few things from the more seasoned professionals on air.  And I certainly don't expect any of the new crop of hosts to be on QVC for anywhere near 25 years, nobody does that anymore.

Here's the thing (lol).... JB  doesn't let her guests/vendors speak much. That's why I enyoy when she hosts alone, only. Other than that, she has a pleasant voice, prepared, and is professional.
