Not a Happy Camper - Packing Slips, Return Labels

Sorry if this has  been beat to death, but all the previous comments were really old.  I won't be buying more items if QVC can't even bother with a packing slip & return label in the package.

 

I just spent time with C/S rep Jorge who documented my return information because there was no packing slip in my the bag of a Lori G. item that I can't   believe is wearable by others.  So I have to print out a return label, document my purchase and take it to the post office,,  Yes I suppose I could pay full price for retuning Q's way - but maybe I can save a couple of dollars my way.

 

 I understand they don't want you "returning your way", but no documentation at all is sent with the purchase?

 

I've been shopping as long a there has been a QVC - next time I see something I think I can't live without, I'll check out some of the other places I've seen mentioned,

It is frustrating when a ticket isn't included, but Q isn't alone in doing this. It's a trend that many other companies are doing, too.

Thanks, but I just got an email from C/S and the rep got it all wrong - now they have sent me a Return Label which negates the "my way" mailing.  I just wanted the correct address to send it to - 

 

back to the drawing board - might just toss the top from Lori in a trash bin - awful to be so ticked by a shopping channel -

I must be the one confused.

 

So QVC is sending you a return label that will include the information you need on where to return it. What would preclude you from using that information and mailing it back using whatever method you want? They've provided the information. Use their label or create your own. (Though considering current shipping rates QVC may be the most economical.)

@Waterwoman  - Other retailers are doing this also.  You won't get one from Target or Amazon either.  

 

I think everyone should have a printer in the home so one can easily print a return label if one is needed. 

 

You don't have to go to the Post Office. Go to USPS.com and sign up for your mail person to pick up your return during normal mail delivery.  The mail person will come to your door.

Packing slips are a COST THAT YOU ARE PAYING FOR.  Buying, inventorying  and printing a specific label  in every shipment is expensive, especially one that ships 100% of their goods.

 

BUT HOW MANY PEOPLE ACTUALLY NEED TO RETURN AN ITEM?

 

Of that approx. 5-10% who need to return an item, how many don't have a printer, only about 2 to 3% which is very very small.  

 

Every company is trying to  stay competitive, it is very smart for QVC to do this.

The average return rate for retailers was almost 17% in 2021 according to the National Retail Federation.

 

I would think that QVC's return rate is much higher, purchases being exclusively on-line.  The NRF  reports that the on-line return rate is nearly 21%.

My two cents worth is that if a company makes returns a problem for me, I will most likely look elsewhere for what I want.  

 

The best company for returns that I've dealt with is Zappos.  They don't send the paperwork but their system is user friendly and they communicate with the customer along the way.  Very smooth process and trustworthy.

Agree. I pretty much order online only from Amazon and Zappos because my refund is issued the minute my return is scanned at UPS or Kohls. Ordered a jacket from Lands End and 5 weeks later they had not yet issued my credit and no communication saying they had received my return. I had to call their CS, then they said oh yeah they got it and would issue my credit today. Unacceptable. Still order now and then from Q but never  clothing or shoes. Risk of incorrect fit is too high. Sometimes order online from Target or Kohls, but easy returns because those stores are right around corner from me.
