I think I understand why the hosts say this.  It is a poke to try to make you feel like you better BUY IT NOW.

For me, it is a total miss.  I start thinking it must not be too good if they aren't going to offer it anymore.  Or, I think if I really liked it, I won't be able to get it again.

QVC, I would think about this phrase again!

I think they say it to mean exactly what the situation is.  They order in larger quantities and to have a reorder on some things - well it's just not possible to get more from the manufacturer.  With clothing, most manufacturers are already manufacturing fall and winter clothing.  With other products it does take time to manufacture larger quantities for QVC.  There is no conspiracy to get people to buy by saying this.  If a company can do a second manufacture of an item they will then offer a future ship date.  Some seem to think that with a wave a magic wand more product can be available on demand.  It has nothing to do with the quality of the product but with the reality that the company cannot manufacture more for QVC at the time.   I do like to know this so if I really want something I can order.

@hyacinth003  I feel the same as you. It makes me think that the item was a “miss” and now they’re trying to dump whatever they have left. Not a good marketing ploy in my eyes.

To me, no reorder, says you're out of luck if you like it and want more.  Since I won't be stuck or pay for things I might not like, that's a no sale to me.

I can't think of a single thing any host ever says that makes me run to phone or computer to order something I don't already want or need.  I'm quite certain I used to do just that but for a number of years now I've really put the brakes on spending for "stuff."

But it makes total sense to me that they warn me an item won't be available if it sells out.  Just doesn't make me want it more than I already do.

At brick and mortor they usually receive a set amount of inventory for a particular clothing item and once it is gone it is gone.  Sure there may be exceptions, but this is fairly common practice.  QVC has staples in their collections that they do reorder, perhaps, they are limiting reorders on seasonal items that they do not plan to bring back at all or until the following year.  There certainly could be some hyperbole there too!!!
