Nicknames

I went to ask a question about an item today and they put up a screen requiring me to change my nickname. Is this just one of the many many flukes on this website, or is it for real? And if so, why? I exited. I’ll just skip my questions and reviews. Seems ridiculous.

I got that too one time, seems to be a glitch, I just refreshed the browser and entered my current info and didnt have to change my nickname.....
