It was nice to see Nick Chavez on AM Style with Leah today.  I wish Nick was on the Q more often.  In my opinion, he is more enjoyable to watch than Chaz Dean and I think his products are much better quality too.

Glad you like Nick and are enjoying his visits.

I tried his products and despite the recommendations here about how great they are and moisturizing, they left my hair brittle and strawlike.  Don't work for me, big waste of my money.

@Buck-i-Nana I totally understand what you are saying.  It's so hard to know what products will work for you.  I too have tried many products on the Q that have been highly rated by viewers...but just didn't work for me.  I wish the shipping costs could be eliminated for this very reason.  I'd try more items if it didn't cost me $10 to return an item I did not want to keep ($3 to ship to me and $7.95 to return...not sure what return cost is now, I may be off by a dollar).

I've had the opposite experience as @Buck-i-Nana, and no one was more surprised than I was.

I have thin, straight, baby fine hair. I've tried every "volumizing"/thickening shampoo *except* the very expensive ones.

On a whim, I purchashed NC's Plump & Thick shampoo and Thickening Mist, and found they actually do what they claim, for me. I'll never have a lion's mane, lol, but these DO give me the appearance of thicker hair. Not huuuge, but pleasantly noticeable.

@Moonchilde, I've just asked over in the Nick Chavez forum if anyone has tried both the Plump 'N Thick shampoo and the Advanced Plump 'N Thick shampoo.  Any chance you have experience with both?  I'm trying to decide which one to try.   I have straight, thin, fine hair on top, but slightly wavy everywhere else.

I wish there were trial sizes for this very reason. Hair care, beauty products, perfume, etc. It's a lot to return ship if something doesn't work for you.

No, @SHOPR, this was my first try with NC products - and I DO wish that somewhere - here and/or NC website - they would give a clear description of the differences between the Advanced products and their non-Advanced (lol) ones in the same line.

There also wasn't a description of the difference between the Plump & Thick line and the Advanced Volume line. I asked about this in a NC thread for a recent TSV and decided on the Plump & Thick; I made the right choice for me I think. But when you have Regular and New Improved, and Volume 1 and Volume 2, discussing the differences would be very helpful.

There are trial sizes on the NC website but the s&h was almost as much as the sample cost, so I can't see someone doing that unless they have money to burn.

I have the ones you are asking about.  They always work for me, but recently, HSN had a special on KERINQUE,(SP), and it surpasses everyone I tried.   The repair and lift spray the best.  My hair now looks thick and I don,t have to wash it everyday, just spray the REPAIR AND LIFT from HSN, 18.00.   I still love NICK,S PRODUCTS, but swear by KERINQUE.  THE Q was selling it at one time and infomercials sell it
