I placed an order on 8/8 and it was " being prepared" until the 8/11. I received an email stating that the item "has shipped" on 8/11.  I checked the status of the shipment under "Order Status" and what came back really surprised me.  It said it was "Awaiting Carrier Pickup". That message came up on the UPS website as well, even though a tracking number was provided.  Today is 8/13 and the status is still the same.  I did not receive any notification that the shipment was delayed, but apparently it is not in transit.  Has anyone else experienced this?

@Whitney400   Yes this happens not just with QVC but with other places that I order from. I believe it most often happens when an item is shipped directly from a vendor. The delay is usually never more than a few extra days.

It also happens if the ups person picks up, but doesn't scan, that one individual package in the bulk pickup.  It has happened to me many, many times.  It always gets here.

Not sure but sometimes I think it happens more with weekend dates,  8/11 being a Friday.

I believe the message is part of the transparency in shipping.  I am happy to know where my item is. At least we know whats going on.

@Whitney400 - This status is used to indicate that the package has been labeled, is ready to be shipped, and has had its label information entered into the system, but the shipment hasn't been made available to the courier yet. It makes it sound like it's the fault of UPS for not picking it up, but it's actually a delay on the vendor's part (happens with QVC and many other vendors). Hope you get your order soon!

@Whitney400.  Your panic is premature and there likely is no problem.  Shippers and their agents rarely move on week-ends.  It will move on Monday, however tracking may be slow in showing it.  Just relax; it's on the way.  Maybe quit checking.

It happens with countless retailers who have shipments ready before the carrier picks them up. It's no one's fault.

Since most of Q's shipments are parcel post, the lowest priority mail, they are the last to get picked up by USPS, or most often by a non-USPS third party. Those 3rd parties aren't making a trip unless it's profitable.
