WOW, I guess I am in the minority here, but I have never had a host bother or annoy me so much that I would feel justified complaining about or bashing them....much less defending myself for doing so!
I enjoy having QVC on in the background, I think some of the hosts are really entertaining, actually. And as far as providing the specifics about items, I don't see a problem there either. I order online anyway, and most of the info, including garment measurements, fabric, etc. are right there. I can't imagine that folks who can manage to read and contribute to these blogs can't also look up an item on their computer....
So you all want the "powers that be" to do what....fire these people? Reprimand them? Scare them about losing their jobs?

I would like for management to welcome, and act upon, viewers' observations regarding the lack of professionalism of some of their QVC hosts. There has been a definite, negative change in presentations - comparing those offered many years ago to the ones offered currently.
Management needs to train new hosts - even retrain some tenured hosts - to speak, behave and dress more professionally!!
Some hosts seem to forget that they are there to present a QVC product and that should be their only focus during their show.
And yes, I do change the channel. By now, I know which hosts I will watch and those that I will not watch. But if I don't watch presentations, then I usually don't buy products!!!

I think there is a big difference between bashing, complaining, commenting, criticizing and critiquing. When a host is doing something wrong, I don't see a problem in pointing it out. Also, the hosts are part of the whole "Q Experience" so silly things come up from time to time on the boards that really have nothing to do with their job performance. For example, Antonella's new look is a topic around here somewhere. As long as it's doesn't get nasty, I see nothing wrong with the topic because she's part of the Q. I commented that I wasn't crazy about it. Had I said she looked ridiculous, that would have been out of bounds. JMO

@willomenia ...and YOU would know exactly what and how she should be doing in order to do her job correctly? Pfft. Methinks that her sales are phenominal, let the powers that be at QVC figure that out.

I agree @RavensGirl . I personally have a "thing" for humor and personality in just about any situation, and enjoy seeing that alot on the Q. However, some really get caught up in the day to day complaining about too much laughing, too loud, TMI, please no dancing, dont share your personal life, hair is too messy, not the right color, awful outfit, blah blah blah. Zzzzzzz

AGREE! How boring would it be if they just stood there like prudes in plain clothes, with monotone voices, giving out chest dimensions and laundry directions with no voice inflection or expression... YAWN!!!

Oh, and I have yet to hear anyone screech, either!!!

And you can bet that people would still complain about the hosts if they did that.
