My Q-Year's Resolution

[ Edited ]

No more Easy Pay orders!

I have to begin by saying that I love QVC and I've been extremely happy with almost every purchase.

However, I went into my account history this morning and paid all the Easy Payments that were pending - going through May of 2020.

Yikes!

All those "6 payments of nearly free" add up.

My Q-Year's Resolution is

NO MORE EASY PAY ORDERS.

Do you have a Q-Year's Resolution?

My credit card offered 5% cash back on Paypal purchases in the 4th quarter, so I gave my Q card & EP a rest. Good idea. Q rarely offers 2 or 3 EPs any more- all 5 & 6 EPs. Too much- not interested.

Easy Pay is way too hard to monitor.  Don't trust them to not over bill.

I fell into the easy pay trap a while back. They add up and are very hard to keep up with. Someone on these boards used to call them evil pay and I agree with that. I have been using my debit card and paying the full price of the item at once. No easy pays for me.

I don't buy anything without easy pay. I bought so much in this last quarter, Dyson V11 vacuum, Amazon Echo Show5, a sound bar, Amazon Fire Stick TV, Josie Maron stuff, and so on. I could never afford these things without easy pays. The prices were the best I'd ever seen. Now, I'm pretty much done for a while, and will slowly pay all of it off. I don't have any problems, no confusion, about it all. I love it!

@house_cat Are you upset because you are spending too much money? We know nothing is really free, but if you pay your balance on whatever card you use you are not charged interest. I personally like using the banks money for 30 days. I spend way too much money at the Q, but not using easy pay would not deter me. I'd use easy pay from whoever offered it.

Not having easy pay will also curtail spending for a lot of people. Definitely a positive step!

Never use easy pay.  I did a few times in the past and it was too confusing to keep track of.  If I can't pay for it in one payment, I don't buy it.

AND I would never buy a high ticket item, e.g, electronics or a mattress from TV and that's the only time I see easy pay as an advantage, maybe.
