Glad MB got to go home early. Hope she feels better soon.

Someone came to choir rehearsal sick before Christmas and spread it to others. He should have stayed away. He didn't wear a mask either. Very inconsiderate & irresponsible.

Last week two of my family members got COVID, and the people who live with them refused to wear masks. They continued to go to work, go to church, and other events without masks. Their reasoning, "We feel fine." Well, that only lasted a few days, because their exposure to the germs made them sick too, and they've possibly infected dozens of others. I just don't understand why people don't have any consideration for the health of others.

Doesn't matter if it's COVID or something else. If you can't stay home, at least wear a mask around others.

About 8 years ago, I worked for a SW company that discouraged the use of sick and vacation time. If you called out, sometimes the CEO of this multinational company would call you personally to suss out whether you were really sick. I went 3 years without taking sick or vacation time and put in long hours. Eventually, I got a monstrous case of the flu. We had an internal event running that day, and I was one of the presenters. I tried to get someone to sub in, but no colleagues were willing. Late that morning, I was in the CEO's office telling her about the situation when I fainted.

Needless to say, they sent me home (I was driven by a staff member). I was out for three weeks. The CEO felt so bad she sent her housekeeper to my home multiple times with groceries, homemade prepared food, and an offer to run errands or whatever I needed.

If she had only let us take our sick time.....

We don't need another hero.  Beginning of the year: I'm sure plenty of days off are available.   It's almost irresponsible,  in my opinion.

I really, really doubt Mary Beth came in because she needs the paycheck.   That analysis of the situation made me guffaw!

Before Covid, this used to be business as usual, I remember MBR being one of the worst sounding.  I thought Covid would change that.  My employer requires us to work from home for 10 days from the onset of symptoms - ANY symptoms.  Of course, QVC hosts would have more of a challenge working from home, but didn't they do that during the height of the pandemic, or am I thinking about our local newscasters???

Anyway, there's really no excuse, she sounds horrible, unless they figure she may get some "pity sales".

They could have just had the Rep do the show alone  or the Host  could have skyped .

Not acceptable to have some one ill  host a show in person

@They CallMe MRWILKES.  She told Joel she doesn't "think" she's contagious.  I'd want to know before I sat down 2 feet from her.  She could have Covid and apparently wasn't tested.

I totally agree with previous posts about staying home.  Even if it wasn't Covid, there are other respiratory illnesses that some people cannot recover from easily, or perhaps their loved ones.  I would be very uncomfortable around someone that sounded so sick.

@Coastalcarolina   yes there is RSV is out there and is very contagious and is dangerous for the elderly especially and those immune compromised that's why  I'm very careful around anyone that seems sick 🤒

What?  Viruses do not respond to antibiotics.

@sunsetbeach  that is totally true !  That's why drs dont or shouldn't give antibIotics for a common cold for instance they are not meant for viruses that aren't bacterial.  plus 24 hrs wouldn't be enough time to not be contagious.

I would say there was no one to come in for her, mary beth has always seemed to be a very nice lady.

That's certainly not the way an 'on air live' television business should be run and, frankly, it's irresponsible of them to do so. Live tv shows should always have emergency substitutes to jump in or vendors who can go it alone with their product.
