Re: Mailman Ordering for me?

Doesn't the phone number and account of the caller who is ordering automatically come up?  I'm pretty sure it does so thinking QVC made the mistake would be ruled out.    It sounds like some weird freak thing.  After suggesting that maybe someone else in your household ordered and you explaining you are the only one, and when CS started on the bizarre explainations - well I would have asked for a supervisor.

Re: Mailman Ordering for me?

Unfortunately, I can believe this happened.  It didn’t happen to me with any type of purchasing, but something similar with my credit card itself.

I called the credit card company to make a change to my account, which was accomplished in ten minutes on the phone, no problem.  However, what I didn’t realize at the time was that somehow several pieces of my personal information in their file got totally messed up.  I found out when trying to use my card, the transactions got cancelled repeatedly.  It took me weeks to get to the bottom of the problem, since the bank kept saying everything was fine with my card and it must be on my end.  I got one excuse that there must have been someone in the area with a scammer, so the bank was just keeping me safe by not allowing the transaction.  And the different departments I spoke to had different information for my file—all of it incorrect.  When we finally got to the bottom of the problem, there was not only no explanation on their end, but no apology either.

So, yes, I can believe this sort of thing happens.

That is what the rep kept telling me, that when someone calls to order, their number pops up.  I don't doubt that, but there must be more that goes into placing the order by the rep.  I'm sure it was an innocent mistake by that rep, maybe they clicked on something that brought up my account?  Maybe a freak crossing of phone wires?  Who knows? But it is scary to me nonetheless.

I was not going to post this, but after reading about the wrong items being sent, I have decided to as a heads up.

Every morning, I check my bank accounts online and also check my order status on several websites if I have anything coming.  On Sunday morniing, March 11, I checked on the status of a D&C top I had ordered on the 8th.  To my suprise, there was an order showing for the TSV of the previous day, March 10, of IT Cosmetics.  I did not order this.  I called CS immediately to let them know I did not order this and to cancel.  Of course, they said it was too late to cancel.  They also informed me that it was a phone order, which I NEVER do, I always order online.  I told them to look at my account and see that I have never ordered any type of cosmetics.  On top of that, I am a blonde caucasian and the makeup was ordered in the darkest shade.  The icing on the cake was, express shipping to the tune of $20.19!  I despise shipping charges and avoid them whenever possible.  The CS rep actually told me that someone else in my house called it in.  I told her that I live alone and had no one over yesterday.  Next, I was told that someone could have broken in while I was out and used my landline to order.  I told her I was home all day and night and had no burgulars who wanted to call in a makeup order TO BE SENT TO ME!  Next, I was told that since the order definitely came from my phone number, the mailman could have broken in, ordered the makeup vis my landline phone with the plan of stealing it when it arrived.  I kid you not.  Not ONCE did it occur to this rep that someone at QVC made a mistake.  When I pointed that out, she insisted that a phone order came in from my landline phone number the evening before.  Long story short, it came, I didn't open it, returned it and got a refund on shipping both ways (after 3 more 15 minute phone calls) a month later.  I told them to remove any credit cards I have on file to avoid this happening again and I went online and removed them from the "My Account" page.  The point of the story is, someone at QVC made a mistake, big deal, I make them everyday.  Just say so and fix it instead of making up outlandish scenarios that did not and could not happen.  It was not much money, but if this mistake was made on a $5,000 massaging recliner, my CC company would have been a little upset. Everyday now, I check to see if the online QVC site has any credit cards on file.  Sometimes they pop back up even after I have removed them repeatedly and not placed an order.  So check and make sure on your accounts if you don't want the hassle of a mistake no one will admit.

I find this amazing as this happened to me also.  But, I was buying a Jai pendant and the next day 2 different pendants showed up in my email saying thanks for the order.  Except I only ordered one of them which was one of the cats but an elephant pendant was also ordered.  I called and they said it came from my phone and couldn't stop delivery, so I had to wait for it and send it back. Something is wrong and they need to fix.

@Angels&Ladybugs  Do you have a dog or cat that can dial the phone??    JK   Don't feel bad, I was at Walmart this week and when I got home , I realized I had no receipt.  I called and asked if I could get one?  They said yes, just get the exact amount, and the card you used.  I go into my account and thought WHAT????? 256.00.   I go up there, and when I get there they were closing up at CS.    They got a manager who didn't know how to do it, and so I stood there for 30 min till she figured it out.  Finally I get my receipt, I said the first half of this is my order but the bottom half is not.  I said I need my money back in my account.  Over 150.00.  She said you will have to call back in morning and talk to cash office.  I call cash office next morning and she said "we already gave you your money back and we have your signature."  I said lady you gave me nothing but a headache and you DO NOT HAVE MY SIGNATURE. I hung up and called back and asked for store manager and they said they would reseach it. They call me back and the dumb cashier didn't close out my order, which is why I had no receipt.  I was in a hurry cause I was in line for 45 minutes,  because they ran out of bags. How does a Super Walmart run out of bags?????  I always make sure I have a receipt,  because they stop you and ask to see it if you do not have any items not bagged.  I did.  I had a bag of Parrot seed.  Guess what, no one was at the door checking that day.  I finally got my money after 5 calls and two trips up there. At one point they asked me if I was sure I was at that Walmart?   I said no I drove to Pa and bought my stuff (I live in Florida) Then they said are you sure you used that card.  I said I only have one card that I use.  GRRRRRRR    The world is going to the dogs.

Re: Mailman Ordering for me?

I forgot the best part:  The reason they thought they gave me back the money is because the lady that was behind me said this is wrong.  She got the receipt showing the 256.00 order.  She said this is not my order....They gave her back the 256.00.  She walked out without paying a dime for over 150.00 of groceries??  Talk about stupid????

Re: Mailman Ordering for me?

@Angels&Ladybugs.  When you place a phone order, you must enter your PIN number.  How could anyone but you have known this unless you've "loaned" it to someone else?  I can understand how the CS person could have doubted you.  I don't know how or why QVC could have sent you a cosmetic set by "accident".

In the future, it makes reading easier if you break your post into paragraphs.

Re: Mailman Ordering for me?

Sorry, had to chuckle about "the mailman" was responsible for your QVC order. This is my story of ineptness in the business world.   In Oklahoma  we buy what is called a Pike Pass to be used on all toll roads. There is sticker with a number on it that is attached to the top middle of the windshield. We usually put $50 in the Pike Pass account, and receive a statement whenever we use it, and the sum decreases.  Well we got a bill from t Pike Pass showing  $6.98  for a toll road charge  in Wichita Kan. on May 17th. Now we live in Tulsa OK, and have not been to Wichita in 20 years. So my husband called the Pike Pass Number and told the lady it could not possibly be our car, as we haven't been to Wichita in twenty years, and not out of Tulsa County for several years. Husband also noticed that the bill was for a vehicle with  six axles, and our car has two.  The lady at the Pike Pike Office told my husband that someone obviously stole our tag and put it on a semi, or we had a trailer that we were pulling. My husband said, "no our tag is not missing". She said she would talk to the Pike Pass Office in Kansas, and would get back to us.  I know it is $6.98 but somebody needs to make this right, but doubt that it will ever happen. Probably not the only people to whom this has happened.

Yes I do!  3 dogs and 2 cats.  It MUST have been them since there is no way QVC could have had a glitch or a rep might have made a mistake.  They must have been ordering it for their gift closet. Smiley Very Happy

I am sorry to hear about your ordeal. Pennsylvania...LOL!
