Mackenzie-Childs autumn merchandise

Her prices are ridiculous. You could make that owl wreath yourself for about $30. It’s $119.95. It’s only 16 inches too big it’s plain and simple. The pine cone candles - $192.98. It makes me glad I purchased the light up pumpkins from Kim Gravel.

16 inches big - not too big. Can’t type on the phone lately. IT makes errors.

Mackenzie-Childs is known to be expensive.  Their products are of very good quality and people collect them.

QVC doesn't even carry the really expensive stuff.

Sometimes a piece or two is fun to have.

It has traditionally been an expensive high-end brand.  Not so sure about that now that QVC is in the mix.  To me, that's sort of an odd market for MC.  If their stuff is cheap, it's not high end any more. . . by reasoning.

HSN carried a lot of their Courtly Check stuff years ago.

Evidently it sold well enough on QVC to keep them coming back for more.

Mackenzie-Childs had a huge following on Shop HQ, I was shocked when they defected to QVC. Almost as much as I was when they lost Invicta Watches and all the designer sunglasses.

Couldn't tell ya what it stood for, but I bought a lot from them. Mostly upscale products like Prada sunglasses, Invicta and Movado watches, Mackenzie-Childs (including their flatware), Waterford Crystal, and fine china or porcelain dinnerware. They were originally Shop NBC, but were sold to a man that wanted them to be the Neiman Marcus of online shopping. The new owner soon gave that customer base pursuit up, I don't think he counted on that customer base not being an impulse shopper! I think they closed up last year.

Yes, the prices are ridiculous. However I did buy the two small pumpkins for $100.00 they are now $160.00. It is laughable really because they are made of resin.

I have decided to keep the two small pumpkins in the courtly check. I have items from twenty years ago and they too were expensive back then. IMG_6374.jpeg

I could afford it, but a child's teakettle for $169-199.00 doesn't seem like fun. :-)
