A container and a lid is fairly self-explanatory in my opinion.  It speaks for itself.

No representative necessary.

Haha I find the Lock and Lock stuff so boring. "Oh you can put in Mac and cheese. Oh and salad!" Who'd of thunk? Also the one purchase of these I made left me finding out they get all pock marked like the cheapies anyway.

Does QVC own LocknLock and Temp-tations?

@beach-mom  no Tara owns her company and a local store where I live in Florida carries some of her pieces.  Can't speak to Lock n Lock.

@They CallMe MRWILKES - That seems a little snide and unfair, don't you think? With that line of reasoning, there is no need for 90% of the content on QVC.  Smiley Wink

It's a cake. Just eat it. Nobody has to demonstrate that.

It's a vacuum. Plug it in and it sucks things up. No need for a special show.

It's a set of sheets. You put them on your bed and sleep on them. Just buy the right size—your eyes are closed most of the time when you're using them anyway.

Like many people, I watch QVC presentations to get a three-dimensional view of items, to learn about any special details, and to get the information that is, sadly, increasingly absent from the online product descriptions. LocknLock has struggled with this during all the decades it has been at QVC; sometimes the product pages detail capacity but not size, and sometimes the information is incomplete or even incorrect. So it is often helpful to see how a container is being used live to get a better idea of what will fit, not necessarily what a container is used for in general.

There are plenty of other places to shop if I just want to look at a photo, check the details to see if they match my needs, and complete my purchase. The fact that QVC has at least a few products that benefit from a demonstration by someone who is familiar with their ins and outs is the reason I still tune in—and it's always nice to have a presenter who provides that information in an engaging way, which I felt Janine did well. So far, MarkCharles is doing fine in her place, and hopefully I'll continue to get all the details I need (or, since I see this line coming, I'll change the channel).

P.S. I enjoy your new-ish avatar; I still remember seeing that SNL sketch for the first time and laughing extra hard because the cheerleading outfits are exactly the ones that were worn at my high school.  Smiley Happy

@loriqvc

I think it's wonderful to have the brand reps for most items.  A cake rep can go into the unique ingredients (no water, pudding, real vanilla, French butter, etc) and be a true representative of the recipe origin.  Expensive vacuum cleaners have lots of technical specs and interlocking parts and a brand rep can demonstrate and discuss those things at length.  For some it can determine if they need that $500 one, or if an $89 one is sufficient.  Sheets, if any good, have a manufacturing tale of thread count, material guide, fiber origin, loftiness, etc.

But some items really don't need it, in my opinion.  That's not being snide at all. LocknLock is a brand of containers.  They're plastic or glass, what else do we need to know?

I'm not suggesting get rid of LocknLock reps.  I enjoyed all of them individually.  But necessary?  I'm saying the LnL rep bears no importance to me in whether I purchase or not. They share no information that I need in order to make my decision to buy a plastic [or glass] container.

I think we should get @JONNYSBRO down off the ledge and make Lisa Robertson the new Lock n Lock rep.

If that's the case, I might as well go to Walmart and buy the cheapest ones I can find.

I thought the object of having a presentation and "brand representative" was to explain the details of why their product is better than the cheapie.

Admittedly, some reps do it better than others. And maybe we don't need a 30 minute lecture about some products that are more self-explanatory than others.

I have found LocknLock in the local Lot-Less discount store!

Sometimes a container is just a container.
