Can someone please tell me what is up with the word "Literally"?  I have never seen a word so overused. Both hosts (especially Jane Tracey) and guests use this word over and over and over. They literally need to get rid of the word literally!

@Joni R.  If the speaker would replace the word "literally" with the word "actually", which is what it means, they'd see how sill their comments sound.

@Kachina624   I may be one of the last posters who still heads to my huge paper dictionary which was published in 1997 and has literallty 1571 pages of words and definitions in print so small, I need my reading glasses and a magnifier both to read it.

One of the usages of the word literally even then included really or actually.

I noticed that Maria McCool uses it as often, if not more, than Jane Treacy.

I recall one time I heard Alberti say that a Pop Sonic shaver that he was running across his forearm was "literally a lawn mower".   Not criticizing Alberti, I like him.  Thought that was funny.
