Re: Lisa Robertson 2014 Goodbye Bash

I didn't know that Kathy primarily sold jewelry when she was a host.  I never watched QVC back then.  I don't think that hosting description exists today.

Can you imagine Kathy selling Susan Graver, $400 Dysons, or in Gourmet Holiday these days?  I'd love to see that!  I'd watch every one of her shows!

@Caaareful Shopper Kathy sold everything...clothing, linens, along with jewelry. She had a show on Friday nights called, "Finishing Touch," which was mostly accessories. She even did kitchen shows, which were very comical.

There's always a lot to be thankful for if you take time to look for it.
For example, I am sitting here thinking how nice it is that wrinkles don't hurt.

@JONNYSBRO enjoyed watching Jennifer Coffey's last show.  These hosts have personal lives.  It's great people have dreams and future accomplishments they want to achieve.  I don't see what the hype is about Lisa Robertson.  Jennifer was a better host in a shorter length of time at QVC but unfortunately there are a lot of jealousy and negative comments on these boards

@theresa

Never was Jennifer any comparison to Lisa.  Jennifer was grade C- compared to Lisa A+. As good as Mary Beth and Jayne Brown are at their hosting jobs, they are not in the same ballpark with Lisa Robertson and Kathy Levine who were top shelf.  These two just had that je ne se quoi that no other host has had since.  Shawn and Jennifer are in the same league, but nowhere near Kath & Lisa.

@Nonametoday

Beautifully said, Lisa Robertson & Kathy Levine magic was je ne se quoi no one since has come close. Thankfully we have memories. Especially Lisa, Italian live shows wearing magnificent designer gowns and stunning jewelry. Those were the best of times! Kathy and Joan Rivers wonderful memories. Thanks for your lovely sentiments.

@theresa   I don't think anyone is jealous of the Hosts. I  leave negative posts about certain Hosts because IMO they are not doing their job.  They are so interested in Fame instead of telling us shoppers what we need to know before we buy.

No one can compare to Lisa.  She was beautiful, talented, funny and could sell anything.

Re: Lisa Robertson 2014 Goodbye Bash

You can’t compare Lisa to anyone today; the world has changed. The economy was better back then & there was more disposable income for many. Home shopping was somewhat unique back then but there are many choices for online shopping today & business is very competitive.
We are also in an inflationary period & people must take care of needs first which are more expensive before discretionary spending. Also, style is much more casual & even LR’s often touted “Madison Ave” has seen closings.

I didn’t watch Cathy Levine but she seems like a nice lady & bright but I don’t care for her offerings but, then, I’m not
In the market for anymore jewelry.

@spabar   Yes you are correct. In fact I recall back in the day she was featured in a TV guide in an article Titled," Kathy Levine, Queen of Hawk! " She spoke of some of the stuff they had to sell, like Doll Lamps. She started at CBN and was on air and then went back to help in shipping. Did it all. Always professional.  She and Joan Rivers were so entertaining on air together. I related to her as we are the same age.

Thank you for that clarification @spabar .  I thought that was indeed surprising.

Re: Lisa Robertson 2014 Goodbye Bash

I do remember Kathy Levine doing a lot of Diamonique shows. Other things too but I agree a lot of jewelry.
